DOMESTIC SEWING MACHINE BOBBIN CASE 15K TYPE, BROTHER JANOME, SINGER + MORE

I bought this as I had a caravan awning to repair with heavy thread and didn't want to adjust (upset) the tension of my present bobbin case. I had been told locally that it would cost around £15 to buy one of these. I was surprised, to say the least, when I found this item and thought that if it doesn't fit or work I could put it down to experience. This item totally surprised me, it fits and works perfectly, it is exactly the same as supplied with my Singer 8280 sewing machine and arrived well before the expected date. In one of our many moves we lost the bobbin case for our seriously old sewing machine, I didn't hold out much hope for getting a replacement but this fits perfectly. We have yet to actually test it, but I have no reason to doubt it working.

Having purchased in 2019 as a backup for my 42 year old original, today, 14/9/24, I figured I may need it! Took it out to find that it's not a solid piece of metal - you can see the seem join of two halves coming together! Initial disappointment! Went to put bobbin in it and place in machine and handle doesn't open very much, so fiddled a bit getting it in, which it wouldn't so grabbed handle again using one finger and thumb as usual, and pop, off the handle comes! It is not connected via a hinge as per my original from 1982 (just re-emphasising how old mine is, AND it's still in one piece!) and can I get this one, straight out of the bag, back on??? No-hoho!I suppose the price was a clue, but seriously it shouldn't cost much more for a decent one! Steer clear!!!Update: spent the last hour taking apart and cleaning my old bobbin case - which you can't do with the rubbish piece. (Should do that more frequently than every 42 years!) And the spring was rotten, so I used the spring from this piece of rubbish and it's back together all pukka!!

i was looking for this to replace one that is missing from a husqvarna sewing machine and it is a good fit for the machine. i was especially pleased with the price as i wasnt sure if these were a standard fit or specific to the model but it fits great and seems to be well made and sturdy.

Excellent service and price, but it does not fit a Frister and Rossman Cub 3 or 802 the needle slot is far too small
