Lightweight & small - ideal for wildlife photography.
I have used several heavier more expensive 'luggable' tripods for years but was looking for a much smaller, lighter tripod which was easier to carry on my wildlife photography trips. This one fits the bill exactly and is a real bargain so I have not been disappointed over the last few years. To start with it easily fits in the bottom of my camera kitbag (a large converted fishing shoulder bag with cameras, etc. carried protected in velvet pouches) whereas the larger tripods had to be carried separately with a shoulder strap. The plastic section locks hold it securely without slipping which is where one of my more expensive ones falls down. I have fitted a small ball head mount to the top so that I can adjust with a single screw although this can be easily removed for 'stitched' panorama shots. It is no good for close to the ground flower shots and I have 'mini' tripods to handle these having messed around with reversible centre post tripods previously. As mentioned elsewhere the lowest section is thin but seems a reasonable strong profile. I don't use the lowest section however as there is a I,mmore robust extendable centre post if you occasionally need more height. I have also found that if you extend just one leg this tripod makes a sturdy monopod which I sometimes use for butterflies and dragonflies - one of the reasons for the ball head.As it is designed & intended to be 'lightweight' in construction allowance has to be made for this (rules it out for extremely heavy cameras and lenses - I sold all of these years ago). All in all it is one of the most useful items I have - so much so I bought a spare. Excellent value for money!

Surprisingly stable given it's tiny weight. Maybe too flimsy...
Firstly I should say that I bought this for my sister's birthday. Her requirements for a "perfect tripod" was that it needed to be light and compact but extends to a good height. After browsing the depths of Amazon for something that would fit the bill, I found and ordered this item. After she opened it I had a good look and play around with it.First impression was that it was VERY light. Even though the description says it weighs 660g, the weight mentioned on the box is significantly less. I did not get the opportunity to verify it's weight as I have a distinct lack of scales... The pan head worked smoothly and the spirit level was easy to see even with a camera mounted (it would have been nice to have a 2-axis one though). Leg deployment was as easy as pulling up the "clip", pulling down the legs and pushing the clip back in. However, the legs almost feel flexible which brings up the question of the tripods durability. The height to which it extends to is impressive and certainly a winner with my happy sister. It also seems stable with a camera on top. As a bonus, it comes with a drawstring bag to carry it around in, but you could easily fit it into a rucksack.Overall, a good and fully functional tripod but to me it feels a bit too light and flimsy (hence only 4 stars). You get what you pays for, I suppose! If you're looking for something light and compact then this is for you.

It's not bad, just cheap.
Going to write an honest review on this as I'm sure a lot of people interested are wondering if this is any good.Well for a start it was a quick delivery but that's not on the products end, that's Amazons...It is very light, not sure exactly how light but very! :)I use this for my digital camera (I would never trust an SLR with this...)and it has worked perfectly so far. you can adjust the top bit where the camera stands up, down and tilt it around which is very useful (particularly when you are filming something. To extend it, you must un clip 4 pegs on the legs and pull them down (Like on a crutch). I personally found this annoying as the pegs are made out of plastic and can easily snap off. That being said, you can simply slot them back in...So overall, for a camera which is around up to £150 and is small i would trust, but anything bigger than that is not worth taking the risk. Oh and it comes in a travel bag for taking it aroundPlease comment if you need me to specify anything, i would be happy to help. Cheers :)

GET ONE ITS GREAT
Well what can I say - it light , it was cheap , its compact, its very light, its very cheap, HOWEVER having had a few tripods in my time - some of them sturdy enough to use to Jack up a truck ( I exaggerate but you get my drift) ... THIS ONE is quite sturdily made and holds my camcorder steady it even has a bubble level and pans and tilts and locks and all in all is a great tripod - it feels like it weighs NOTHING and yet is a steady tripod when you use it. When its packed away it is also just over a foot long 31cm- so its the same length as a SUBWAY sandwich and comes in its own bagThis is a superb tripod for days out , holidays , rucksack, large carry bags, the beach , walks , hobbies - BECAUSE YOU WILL TAKE THIS ONE WITH YOU AND USE IT ALL THE TIME BECAUSE ITS SO LIGHT. BUY ONEPS I'm not a plugger I have nothing to do with the company I just wanted to write this review because theyve done a great job of making a light tripod that is light enough but firm enough to be very useful and got it to pack away small. If it was £29.95 it would be worth it for the usability size and weight but its a BARGAIN PRICE
