KOMODO 2" Olympic Dumbbell Bar Set & Spring Collars (20" Long) Free Weights Weight Lifting Dumbell

This is my 2nd pair of these. They're big, they're heavy - but they're solid and won't fall apart. No problems with flaking or rust. Well packaged, quick delivery. A great product at a good price.

Good little set of dumbbells for my weights. Very sturdy. Cheaper than what some people are trying to sell second hand.

Only just received, popped 5kg each side as have loads of them. Looks like a small car axle, they are big. But give me the chance to add alot of weight to dumbbells and do heavy shrugs or side bends. Barbell are bad for shrugs, these will be perfect.

The downside of these is that they long which limits their use a bit. Apart from that it's all upside.These take 2" olympic plates, up to about 3 each end of each barbell. Useful if you have an olympic barbell or are thinking of getting one. A 5kg plate doesn't seem limiting, so maybe max 30kg before you hit the problem of attempting to use a larger plate and the extra restrictions that will bring. The length of your arm between grip and a reasonable distance below the elbow might be an issue for smaller people.Though these are lengthy, it's still possible to do things that you might do with a barbell and gain greater benefit because you can move your arms independently. Say a chest press, bring the arms together on the rise. There's certainly no issue with a shrug or similar and a fly is quite possible.They do have spring collars which represent an interesting threat in a dumbbell but these could be replaced. The ends feel a little loose too but can be tightened with an allen key (not supplied).Overall these are brilliant and will probably save a lot of money in weights if you own an olympic barbell as well.

Disappointed with the quality. I wish I had chosen a different pair.

Be aware these are big! I've attached an image of them in my hand to show how large they are from end to end.Personally for me, this is not an issue as I have had Olympic dumbbells in the past so have gotten used to them but if you are used to gym style dumbbells then these will take some adjusting toThe main problem with them, however, is that they seem to be coated in some sort of silver foily coating and this flakes off significantly during weights sliding on and off the dumbbells.The ends of the dumbbells where the weights slide onto a ribbed which whilst prevents the weights sliding off makes a horrendous noise when adding and removing weights as it is metal grinding on metal. Maybe not an issue for some but fornme, as I am exercising in my living room, it proves quite difficult to keep it down when the kids and wife are in bed!My final point is that I would highly recommend that you buy some plastic collar clips separately to these dumbbells as the spring clips provided with these are rubbish. They're far too pig and dig into your body when you're picking the dumbbells up and resting them on you before your sets. They also touch the floor and drag on it when the dumbbells are on the floorNot sure I'd buy these exact ones again if I am honest but they're a good starter pair of dumbbells if you have your own garage where mess and noise aren't an issue

seem to hold up ok, haven’t used for heavy work outs yet but seem sturdy well made and a lot cheaper then major brands
