DC 12V 1/4" Solenoid Valve, N/C Normally Closed Inlet Water Solenoid Valve with Quick Connect

I cut the connector end off the 12V 750mA adapter that comes with a modem and spliced it in plugged it in and it works great. It doesn't matter what end is positive and negative. Water stops when power is removed.I purchased this to pair with a water flow meter to start and stop R.O water filler and calculate usage.

I had originally ordered a valve that looked just like this, but had a different brand name. I got 2 that didn't work. Then I took a chance and ordered one of these. It worked perfectly on the first try. I use it in an aquarium filling system.

At 2.4amps, 12v it only open intermittently. If I sit there and strike the wires at about 1hz, it'll open a few times, then it'll do nothing, then it'll continue like that.This is no good.Its wattage claim is accurate.

"You get what you pay for". Apparently an all plastic construction. In my case, after mounting it in my assembly, it leaked when not activated under 20psi water pressure. To be fair I did not test it before I mounted it (I usually just expect things to work like they should). I may have tweaked the plastic casing a bit when I mounted it. But now mounted or unmounted it leaks in the closed state. I would recommend a metal cased solenoid for 2x to 3x the cost for serious applications...

I have no problems with this unit. Runs as expected and doesn't leak. I'm buy another one.
