M15 Rubber Respirator Mask NBC Protection For Industrial Use, Chemical Handling, Painting, Welding, Prepping

Very satisfied with the product! Everything arrived in great condition and in a timely manner! Filter was distributed in 2003 but that's only a minor complaint. Overall I felt very confident in trying on the mask, which fit great and was very comfortable! If you're looking for a mask for either aesthetics or function, I highly recommend this one!

I have several M15s I have bought at this price point that were in better shape. I understand that it's the luck of the draw with surplus. I received a size 2 which is a Medium mask. The 40mm thread protector for the mask was inside the mask and probably contibuted the lense damage, the filter was pretty beat up. Irritating issues but not a deal breaker.Here is where my red flags came. Remember I own a hand full of these masks ( one for every family member) and also some other surplus models. First the canister was in English. I have never seen one of these in English. Always in Hebrew. Went and checked my stock couldn't find one. Was the filter repacked? Given the look of it, possible... Not guaranteed. Secondly on the front of the make is a voice transmitter. It is a multi piece system. The make I received was incomplete. If you look at my pictures the mask with the black plastic is one of my complete masks. The one that's Barr metal is the one I received that is incomplete.

Just to address all the complaints about not being able to pick a size. With a little looking around, you can find out the M15 was only made in a one size fits all adult gas mask. The number on the forehead section is not a size number and just to this point. I have an older one of these mask that has the number 21 in that spot and fits exactly the same as the one I received, a 2.I bought this to replace the same model mask that I have had for several years. I used for many costumes and random house tasks, little demolition, little painting, and even cutting onions. My old one got a bit beat up and was due for a new filter, lenses, and drink tube. Getting a entirely new mask was cheaper.Mask came clean with a sealed filter and no scratches on the lenses, drinking hose seems to be in great clean condition as well. It fits me great and I expect it to work as well and long as the one it is replacing.

These are actually very good masks and the one I got seems to work for me. I just wish that you could order it in different sizes as I ended up getting a size 3 which is a size large. It still kind of fits but I have to really tighten it to get a decent seal (I thought it would be like the Civilian version and be a one size fits most kind of deal but it is not). I assume the mask is unused as it is overall in good condition, but I think the one I got is from 1975 as that was the only date stamp I saw on it which I thought was actually kind of cool, as the mask I got was made towards the beginning of the M15's production run. My other complaint is probably my own fault or could have something to do with aging rubber but when I tried to remove the mask, I actually ended up ripping the harness so it is useless until I replace that, which should not be too hard. Probably won't end up using this in a NBC situation due to the size being a bit too big (I have an Avon FM12 in a size 2 for that), but I still like this mask a lot and I'll give it a proper test after I fix the harness.

Mask is described as one size fits all. However, as noted by other reviewers, there are different sizes. I received a 1 (small). Compared to other masks this size 1 is EXTREMELY tight around my face. Filter included is 8+ years old. Would be nice if there were different listings for sizes. Going to give this one away as a gift and buy another in a bigger size or in person somewhere.

Great gas mask I suggest washing the inside to get rid of the poisonous powder out of it

The rubber and straps were like new. The filters were dated several years back but I did a quick test and they were both still good. Hope I never have to use them but should get at least 1-2 hours from 2 filters.
