Threads do not fit into 1/2npt

I tried multiple fittings like everyone else, threads do not screw into anything 1/2npt. The threads are supposed to be tapered but they are not. They are straight. The problem is the thread diameter is to large to fit into anything national pipe thread.

Not a 1/2" nptf national pipe tread fitting

Tried it on the following female fittings in 1/2" the aluminum on the fuel cell,brass,cast-iron, black iron,sc40 and sc80. Looks right but will not start on any of the listed. Tried it on a 1/2" die by hand only for it to start a 1/4 turn and stop. Couldn't find anything at local hardware store that fit.Came on time guess I have to look elsewhere.
