This is my first ever 1440p monitor. I'd always told myself 'it's just a screen, go cheap as possible'. It's just been delivered and set up. These are obviously only my initial impressions, but as an upgrade from a 1080p monitor, the difference in quality is immense. Gaming at 1440p compared to 1080P is night and day. No dead pixels for me and since it is now 50% less than it's original MSRP it' an absolute bargain. The 31.5" screen really looks crisp even compared to my previous 1080p monitor.(which was also 31.5"). Put simply, if you're looking for a quality 1440p monitor grab one while you can. I won't go into the specs because they are clearly mentioned in the item description and there are numerous Youtube videos reviewing it. To sum up, I'm one happy customer.

The ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ has been my go-to monitor for five years, and it’s still performing well. The 1440p resolution delivers sharp visuals, and the 155Hz refresh rate keeps gameplay smooth. ELMB Sync and G-SYNC compatibility help reduce motion blur and screen tearing, making fast-paced gaming feel fluid.The IPS panel offers great color accuracy and viewing angles, making it solid for both gaming and general use. HDR10 support is there, but it’s not the most impressive HDR implementation. Build quality is sturdy, and the stand provides good adjustability.The only noticeable downside over time is some minor IPS glow, but it hasn’t impacted performance. After years of use, this monitor is still a reliable choice for gaming and productivity. If you want a well-balanced 1440p gaming monitor with longevity, this one holds up well.

Before I begin this review, I feel like it's best to say what I've moved from and how I'm limited/unable to utilise all of the features (currently). Keep that in mind for this version of the review.I'm running this monitor an AMD R9 Fury X using DisplayPort 1.2 as the optimum connection for the moment. This means that I do not have access to HDR, the full 144hz (I'm capped at 60), and some other features just yet. Once the AMD RX7900XTX releases, I will be upgrading to that, and will try to remember to revise this review when I can to better cover the full featureset.With that said, moving from a 27" 2560x1440~144hz TN monitor has been great because the colours, the viewing angles, and the pixel density (visual clarity) is incredible. Despite being 1" bigger than my old monitor, it provides approximately 1.5x the pixel density with 2.25x the resolution, and it's noticed immediately.The monitor is a true joy to look at and in my personal set-up, and the PPI x distance from my screen (30 inches away) means that it achieves greater than 'retina' effect. (for reference, this monitor at 28" requires 22 inches of distance to be classified as 'retina' by Apple trademark standards).One issue with this monitor is getting the Display Port connection to work properly. I managed to get it working, and then it stopped, and now it works again. Can I explain why this happened and how I fixed it? No, not really. I just had to keep attempting everything I could to get it to connect. Changing the cable, unplugging and replugging, changing the monitor feed to DP1.2 instead of 1.4, rebooting my PC many, many times...In the end, something clicked and the monitor has worked flawlessly since. Googling it didn't provide much help other than letting me know it's not an unheard of issue, but it works now.Because of this, I don't turn it off using the power button on the back of the screen, but thankfully it does have an automatic sleep timer where it will go into standby mode if no signal activity is detected (and power up when there IS signal detected) - while also not having any indicator lights.For some people, there lack of an indicator may be offputting, but for me, I think it's a plus because it just looks cleaner.Overall, I'm really loving it, and definitely recommend this monitor so far.

Before I review the monitor I need to mention that I had to return my first one due to stuck pixels as such I have took away a star but for this reason only, amazon replaced it quickly without any fuss, And the replacement has arrived without any defects.As the monitor has a IPS panel it does have a slight amount of IPS glow but this is minimal and isn't really noticeable under normal use same applies for ghosting its subtle but not noticeable.This monitor looks acceptable with HDR on I have had a HDR400 monitor and that this one looks far better.Text looks clear, colours pop and contrast is what you would expect from a 1000: IPS panelI Currently have it connected via a DP cable and as it is display port 1.4 I haven't noticed any bandwidth issues that can occur when a 2k monitor with HDR is connected via DP 1.2. Speaking of which there is a option in the OSD to change cable type from DP 1.2 to 1.4.Freesync premium is flawless on this display even at 144hz, 10bit colour space with HDR enabled.You cannot enable 10bit colour with any refresh rate over 144hz so you have to compromise colour over framerate but I find 144hz is enough.The inbuilt speakers are what's to be expected, At only 2w they are extremely tinny with bass being non existent, They are fine if you have nothing else but I recommend buying a set of satellite speakers.All in all I am completely satisfied with this monitor and would recommend it to any one even after the first one had stuck pixels.
