The 'Magic Sand Free Large Family Beach Blanket Mat' by Mad Grit. Delivery was very quick (prime). The blanket is quite large (almost too large) but light-weight. Sand does fall through it but sand also comes up through it from the bottom so it IS NOT 100% SANDLESS. When they saw it, the boys freaked out and said, "mom, you want us to sit on a plastic blanket on a HOT beach, what are you thinking?" But because of the mesh it did not get hot. I put the beach towels on it, however, we were in Florida at Christmas time so we spent very little time in the cool water so we were dry when sitting on the beach towels. I can't report on how well it works with the sand coming up from the bottom when things are wet in the summer. I love the idea but wish I would have spent a little more and gotten a better one.UPDATE REVIEW: We just returned from Clearwater Beach and I threw the sand less beach blanket in at the last minute. I'm very glad I did. We layed it out and put the towles down and it worked very well. Towels stayed in place, did not get ground down into the sand because the sand less blanket creates a base for the towels. The only way sand gets on your towels is if someone has sand on their feet and walks on it or wind blown. Now I am glad I am a procrastinator and did not get it sent back in time.

I wish I had found this blanket years ago! We go to the beaches in Chicago often and I can’t stand the amount of sand beach towels and blankets can carry home (no amount of shaking seems to get all of the sand out of those suckers)! I purchased this before our annual family trip to South Carolina and LOVED it! Great size, never got hot in the sun and I didn’t bring any sand home with us! We just sat directly on the mat, but if you like the feel of laying on a beach towel then I imagine it would be a great base for towels and blankets.This weekend I took it to a park for a neighborhood festival and because it is so large I was able to fold it and make a great spot for kids to hang out and play on the grass (which was a little damp and no one got wet thru the layers) - I definitely recommend this mat and look forward to using it at our local beaches this summer!

I don't get it. This is probably the most useless thing I've ever bought.Ok the sand is falling through the nets. But in the same time the sand from the bottom gets to the top of the blanket when you put pressure on the blanket. (Even the weight of a beer can is enough so the bottom of the can is covered in sand after putting it on the blanket.)It also seems to be a poor quality. I used it only twice and detected the first holes after the second time I used it.

We had bought a beach mat in Thailand that made it 10 years befor unraveling. IT was made of plastic but worked great to keep you from getting wet on the beach or grass, and easy to get everything off. We were looking to replace it. Actually saw the same mats here on Amazon for more than double what we bought ours for in Thailand. Chose this as an alternative. ITs good, the sand is very easy to remove, and if the kids step on the mat it does sift through. IT does not prevent you from getting damp so that is a downside, but overall a decent beach mat. Sand does come up through the bottom on the gulf coast, but I am still impressed. This blanket is a great place for beach chairs, mats, bags, etc. to decrease the amount of sand on your belongings. It would probably work better if you placed it on top of a sheet or picnic blanket, but coming from someone who strongly dislikes sand, I’ve enjoyed the beach more with it than without.

So excited to have a beach mat that my 2 year old can easily play on without having sand all over him, or us, or all of our things! Good quality, well made, great product, fast shipping. This works much better than the standard sheet we used to use and no need to throw it in the washing machine after, esp on a humid beach day!

We received the Magic Sand Free Mat very quickly! Thank you! The mat is larger than I expected - which is actually a good thing. I like the mesh and the fact that it keeps the sand/dirt off of it. I had to get used to its texture, but overall, we are very pleased with our purchase and are thankful to have found something like this for our four young children!

My wife and I have two sand mats that are from another manufacturer and much more expensive. We use the mats as a tent footprint and mat when taking outdoor showers. This mat is a great price and just the right size for our outdoor shower.
