Real Nifty
I don't ever write reviews but I have to make an exception here. I aquired this strap a couple months back and I am very pleased with my purchase. I've just started playing again and I'm on a tight budget so every buck on gear I spend needs to count. Cheap straps can really be risky. You might be one rip from disaster all the time. With the price of this strap and it's plastic (which you can not rip) ends that lock to the guitar pegs I figured I had to give it a try. It's proved itself to be well made. No wear, the locking mechanism is as tight as the day I got it. The way it locks is a great design and I can not see any way your guitar's strap pegs could pop out unless you are just slinging your axe around by the strap and break the end off...but if you do this, you are an idiot. The shoulder pad; I don't seem to need it, teles are light and the strap on it's own is a good width. If you are one who moves about a lot when playing the shoulder pad would probably slide out of position. You could always use the pad with your gig bag or something.

So far, so good. Definitely not too short.
Just got this as backup strap to switch between guitars fast. It's comfortable enough, but it's nowhere near as nice as my all leather Levy guitar straps ($30). However ,this buckle slide length adjustment strap style is better when you're switching guitars since they all hang a bit different. A couple reviews mentioned this was too short. I extended the strap to its full length and put it on a P-Bass. I'm 6' and that bass is hanging Slash low. Too low for me. It's 50" usable length I'd say... but you have to adjust it. The clip snaps firmly onto Fender style buttons. I haven't tried others because I converted all my guitars to that style (for cheap here on Amazon). Takes a firm 2 handed push to get the strap off. For a backup or to get going fast on a cheap guitar it's perfect.

Perfect for a dabbler
I recently started learning how to play bass guitar. I needed a comfortable strap so I could practice playing bass standing up.As a kind of a big guy (nearly 300 lbs), I wanted a strap that fit my girth. This strap was the ticket. It has a sliding pad so I could place it where I want to while Iām playing. The strap itself is nice and long and made of solid material.Iād buy again if needed.

great value for the price
I have used many straps with locks that were very expensive. having to buy new hardware for every guitar so the expensive strap locks would work got out of hand. I thought I would try these straps. To My surprise they are great. They dont come off. they can be removed and used on another guitar. I will definitely buy more of these in the future. One thing I noticed is the straps are not very long. Not an issue for me as I need them the length they are. works perfect for me. If you have ever damaged a really nice guitar due to a strap falling off you know what I mean when I say they don't fall off. and for the price you can buy 10 of them instead of the expensive strap locks and keep buying them if you like. Nothing to screw on nothing to break or loose. just works like I want it to.

Great Idea, Misses Slightly in the Execution
I bought this strap for my bass guitar. I loved the idea of it having strap lock built in.Unfortunately, the strap is not holding up after a couple of months. It's already beginning to wear on the seam, showing white under the seam.Additionally, the strap lock system has a flaw. Because it's hard plastic, it spins very easy around the strap button. So, everytime I take the bass off, the strap spins causing a twist in the strap. When I put it back on, I have to start spinning it around to try to straighten the strap back out.For the price, it's ok. But, I will be replacing it soon, and have only had it for a few months.

Best Kind of Guitar Strap
This self-locking strap makes me forget about the strap, so I can play guitar. This strap is stable, comfortable, lightweight and low profile. Strap length is sufficient, and the plastic locking ends seem sturdy and dependable. I bought one for each of my guitars, so I never need to remove them. Five stars at a great price!
