Very poor quality puzzle !
I rarely comment on a purchase but I ordered this Bathers at Asnières puzzle because it was mentioned "The National Gallery" produced and distributed by All Jigsaw Puzzles and I am extremely disappointed by the quality of the pieces. They are too thin to fit together properly and especially to hold on my puzzle mat. I usually take between 4 and 5 days to do a 1000 piece puzzle. For this one it took me 13 days ... In addition it is mentioned on the box the dimension of 55 x 66 cm and in fact it is 50 x 66 cm. When I look on the All Jigsaw Puzzle website, the finished puzzle does not match my pieces at all and neither does the colour. For the price of £20 this is unacceptable.

Stunningly beautiful. Thin pieces.
The image is beautiful. The colours are rich and all the details are crisp. Unfortunately, the pieces are thin and don't fit together securely. This means reassembling the puzzle is a constant task, as well as locating puzzle pieces in odd parts of the house where they must have caught on someone's clothing and fallen off. But the painting and the puzzle are both superb.

Great but tricky
A fabulous high quality jigsaw, but we found it difficult to do, which is fair enough. Highly recommended to those who have done a few 'arty' jigsaws. The original painter must have been a genius of the highest order.

National Gallery should know better...
Very disappointing for the National Gallery to put its name to it. This could be such an easy win - great images, a good brand name, all that was needed was for a reasonable quality puzzle to be produced. This is low quality (many reviewers speak to the ill-fitting, thin pieces), but moreover, the selection and quality of the image is poor. If you like this painting, then one of the stand-out things is the anamorphic skull. Bizarrely - this is mostly cropped from the image. Further, if you compare the image on the National Gallery's own website, you'll find this image is dark and lacks detail. If this had been half-decent, would have explored the rest in the series. As it is, will look elsewhere.

Some badly fitting pieces
Pieces in the centre of the puzzle had poor (soft) joins and although I could see the image quite well and knew the joins were the correct ones, they would not lie flat on the surface. They seemed to want to spring up. I'd say about a fifth of the pieces were in this 'poor fit' section so it wasn't as satisfying to complete as it should have been. It may have been a one-off badly cut example but I would be loath to get another National Gallery jigsaw. It wasn't particularly cheap, and the poor experience completing it added to my disappointment.
