The media could not be loaded. I like the large size feels more sturdy. It has a good heft to it so you don’t need to put a ton of pressure with the blade against it to get a honed edge for the price can’t beat it.

The media could not be loaded. Good quality fine grade steel. It's always worth it to buy a longer 12".This is a fine grade steel, so it is not for making an edge. It is for maintaining an edge. If your knife is in bad shape, you will need it sharpened on a stone first.There are several methods for using a steel. But, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, point the blade AWAY from you if you are new to using a steel. During more than a decade working in kitchens, I tried many methods. Trust me it does not work any better pointing the blade at yourself. Just keep away from others as you use it.The knife I use in the video is about 2 years old and has been maintained with just a steel.
