I've been looking for a temp replacement for my current Knob and boot for my MkIV GTI. Let me tell you that what you get for the price is outstanding. Yes, it uses cheap materials but they use them right. It is well put together. It is hard to tell the difference between the O.E and this knob/boot unless you touch the "pleather".Unless you are ready to spend $100+ on an O.E knob and boot, this is a great alternative to the "autozone" crap they sell.

I followed YouTube videos for removing the old one. This new one fitted nicely, no issue to insert it and clamped

I needed to switch my shifter knob as the person I bought the car from had put in an unsightly giant caliber gun round, (really stupid looking thing) , found this one and was a lot better quality then I expected, the boot is obviously not leather just fake vinyl stuff, didn't have a weird smell like some things usually do. And fit my mk4 (2000 - 01) VW golf perfectly, I didn't feel like taking out the orginal chrome piece so just snapped this boot directly Into it and it fit perfectly, the shifter now sits about 4 inches lower then it was with the other one and I no longer have issues shifting (yay). Overall great value for what you get. It has a sturdy feel to the knob, and was made well, not great but good enough that this should last a while with normal use. My golf now drives the way it should. Very happy with this purchase.Incase some dont know, there is a little metal crimp ring that you need to pinch together so that the shift knob doesnt come loose, you'd be surprised how many people dont know about that little crimp ring.

I drive a 2004 VW golf. This boot did fit, but was a tight squeeze compared to the manufacturer one that pops right in. I was afraid I would break it trying to compress it into the space. I did get it in and it looks nice. I do wish I would have paid more money for a better fit and better quality.

The shift boot on my Jetta was shedding material, but a new OEM unit was far more money than I wanted to spend on an old beater. This shift boot fit perfectly, and with a tightened hose clamp doesn't rotate. Snapped into place in the center console trim with no issues. Made the rest of my interior look dilapidated by comparison.

its a good quality shifter, too bad it has a ring and not like a clamp to hold it in place

So far so good. The boot in it is a little thin but hey for the price it works great simple to install good feeling. Just not sure how long the boot will last. I am happy with it over all in my car for 2 months and still great.

The is item did not fit my 2005 VW Passat. The "fit" chart stated it would. The configuration was totally wrong.
