These are a neat product! I’ve been wanting to try something like this for a long time so I finally broke down and got these. I’d like to end up using these to ‘water’ my plants, like have a plant growing in there, but I’m not there yet. I decided to do seasonal colors in a small hanging glass ball that I have in my office. The first round of testing I did fall colors of red, orange, yellow, clear and white. Please note that the red tiny balls do not look red when expanded, so just know that if it’s a dealbreaker for you. Some were a pink color, some were a light peachish after expanding. I was shocked at how tiny the container of these is…tiny! A coworker advised me to start small, it’s easy to over do it with them. He said his daughter loves them but they get so much bigger than you’d think! My first test I used about twenty tiny beads and it gave me a good handful of these fully expanded. I did about a tablespoon of water at a time and it sucked it right up. Probably used about a quarter cup of water to get the twenty fully expanded, and it took a few hours. My second batch I used about thirty with a quarter cup to start and expanded it’s more than a handful if I were to dump them out of the glass that they’re in. Just an fyi, the white ones don’t seem to expand to full size…I observed this in both batches. They are also solid white vs see throughish like the other colors become. Overall I’m excited to keep these going in my office!

Purchased these for my son after seeing a similar item at our local library's Story Time activity day. I ran a quick test first before I let my son stick his hands in them. We took a few (from the picture below) and dropped them in a cereal bowl and left them overnight. I don't know how many we used, but you couldn't tell we'd taken any out. The results are in the next picture. After being satisfied that they weren't going to stain anything (etc), we filled a sensory play area we found for him with them. He loves them. I left that bowl out in the kitchen where the sun hits it for a over a week before the beads started to turn, too, which in my limited experience is a good shelf life for something wet.

Works just like the name brand. Lots of fun. The package is actually about 3 inches high..from the amazon picture, it looked much more substantial. I was a bit surprised when this tiny little bottle of beads arrived, as I was hoping to give it as a gift for a girl's bday. I had to add some more items to fill the gift bag. Bday girl loved the beads though.

These are a huge hit in our family! The bottle was a lot smaller then expected, but a little bit goes a long way with these. Great for sensory play for kids. My daughter is 2.5 and loves to play with these. Used different sized spoons to move then from different bowls, separates them by color, etc. They last a long time too. The most I've had them out was a week, before I threw them away but they were still in great usable shape.

This was a cool item. A lot smaller then I had imagined and you really need to read description because these were about bb size and really didn't get much bigger than a small marble and there truly wasn't but maybe a half cup of them . So my reason for 4 stars is that I wasn't happy with quantity and actual size they grew to was disappointing but will know better next time.

Love the water beads. Unfortunately the package arrived broken with only a couple beads rolling around at the bottom. There were no beads rolling around in the shipping box so my guess is the package was broken before it was even packed :(

I was surprised by how small the container is, but we have not run out yet! We used these in sensory jars, just to play with in water, and in plants to retain moisture.
