The media could not be loaded. It’s perfect for drip castles and writing messages. It’ll take some perfection to our method and maybe use a sand sifter beforehand to get rid of the little pebbles and broken shells. My daughter liked watching her drop castle form. It really did mix the sand and water in perfect portions and easily stacked up!Little kids will need help to fill it. It’d be easier if there was a cover for the hole to plug the water until you’re ready to use it but I see this getting a lot of use by the older kids!

The HABA Spilling Funnel XXL has been a fun toy for my kids at the beach, but it fell a bit short of my expectations. The concept is great—kids can pour sand or water through the funnel and watch it flow through the spouts, which definitely adds a creative element to sandcastle building. However, I found that it’s not as durable as I’d hoped for something labeled "XXL." The plastic construction feels a bit flimsy, and after just a few uses, the funnel part started to bend slightly. While my kids still enjoy playing with it, I’m unsure how long it will hold up with regular use.Additionally, the funnel works best with dry sand or water, but when the sand is even slightly damp, it tends to clog, which can be frustrating. It’s a nice addition to our beach toys, but not the ultimate tool I had anticipated. For younger kids, it’s still a lot of fun, but for older kids (closer to 8 years old), it may not hold their attention for long. Such a fun & unique beach toy, unlike the standard beach toys. Kids can get creative with it, drawing or writing as the sand spills out of the funnel. Seems very durable & my 3 & 5 year olds love it

We were disappointed with this. It’s a great idea, but it didn’t work. We tried with dry sand, damp sand, fine sand... the problem is that it washes the sand out, and then gushes water so your creation gets washed away. As much as we wanted it to work, it just wasn’t worth the frustration.

Took this to the beach it actually worked the way it was supposed to and it was a little fun for mom too. L O L. Good sensory toy.

Don't bother with this. I fail to see how anyone could write a good review of this useless toy. We were very careful in how we used it, after seeing a few reviews of it getting clogged (but so many good reviews, so I bought it). No matter what we did, it pretty much didn't work. We even experimented by switching sides for the sand and water. Nope. Didn't work better. We sifted the sand to remove the rocks and seaweed (which is a pain) and put it in the proper side. We added water and it either ran out and left the sand behind, or the sand got wet and clogged the end. We found that using about half the water, it sort of worked, but using half the water it emptied in seconds. Not worth it. We left it on Cape Cod, because it was crap.

Easy to use once you figure it out? durable and bright color hard to loose. Weight isn’t too bad but it’s sort of bigger in size. Great gift value.
