This product would have probably worked on another broken screw but I believe the=is boat engine and broken bolt was to much for it. these things will break so be careful

This is a high quality screw extractor set, works great! I've generally had a good experience with GEARWRENCH tools.I recommend the 10 piece set instead of the 4 piece set. The 4 piece set has really large jumps in size and may not have the right size when you're in a crunch.

I bought these to have for the occasional broken bolt. Did everything as shown in the videos (even though I know how screw and bolt extractors are to be used) and broke the 2 smaller sizes - extractors and bits - on the first time I tried using them. This was an utter disappointment.

Definitely worth the purchase

I broke off a steel oil drain plug by stupidly over-tightening it in an aluminum oil pan and had to get it out. The bit worked perfectly as described. Simply followed the instructions - tapped the bit in a small amount with a hammer and then slowly screwed the extractor bit into the broken bolt with a drive (not a drill - I've seen that recommended somewhere...). I have to qualify this though: My extraction scenario was perfect - the drain plug had broken off exactly where it changes from solid steel to a hollowed out point. I didn't have to drill out any material into the broken bolt to get the extractor bit in to the broken piece it was already hollowed out. In the end this tool saved me a ton of cash on a new or machined oil pan.

I love that the case actually holds everything in place, even when I put it in my tool bag. The drill bits chew threw grade V bolts and the extractors do wonders! Very helpful!

Decent quality extractors from a trusted brand. Sizing variety is pretty basic compared to a $500+ Snap-on tools drill bit set, not really covering in between sizes. Had no issues extracting softer aluminum or cast steel machine thread fasteners. I probably wouldn't use these on stainless steel fasteners installed in a softer substrate like aluminum since there are better ways of extracting such (like walking it out with an appropriately sized cold chisel. Tool is a little overpriced given the lack of variety of drill bits/extractors and given that the tools are made in China. I would expect these to be at least half the price (of $70) since they're not US/German made. Comes in a well made, sturdy case to help you stay organized.
