Not the best audio, but not bad by any means. Screen quality is decent, about what you’d expect. Takes a minute to turn on during startup, but after using this head-unit for over a year it is something I rarely notice. The included backup camera is still working, although it certainly is not the best quality. The dial for the volume is a nice touch, and the entire unit has held up well for me with over a years use and being installed in 2 different cars.

Bought this radio in April 2023 as a replacement for my 2002 Ford Focus wagon radio. Getting Apple CarPlay is fantastic! Integrating all functions into one screen is awesome. No upgrade required for the 4 way original Ford speaker system since this radio has a small amplifier that is just enough to give those speakers lots of bass and power (not a boom level). It is connected via a USB cable so it charges while providing all of the other functions. Phone is connected via bluetooth, but the microphone is not very good. Everyone complains when I try to talk via the supplied microphone. Repositioned it twice to no avail. That would be my only complaint. My grandkids love that screen is movable and pull it around to them to search Spotify for their songs! There are USB connections for both Apple and Android and my daughter uses Android with no issues! All around, this is a great upgrade for older cars!

(detach for storage)Easily connected to my android phone via BluetoothI added an in-dash USB mount to enable a USB connection for ease of use with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (connected to the USB cable labeled for this on back of the unit) This was to ensure the phone gets charged while using maps/GPS.The unit displays the cell phone screen as expected, see what you are playing adjust and change from the BOSS touch screen. Maps display and work great. This is using the maps from your phone via CarPlay/Auto, it does not have a built in GPS.Make sure any cables you use for communicating with the head unit are data cables. Charging only cables will cause headaches.

Brings my 04 onto 2014, sound out of it has been pretty good, the EQ is awesome the interface is OK, love when android auto works! ATM I'm not sure how to feel about this, because android auto seems to crash randomly and somewhat frequently I'm just not sure if it's the wire, radio or phone! But when it works it's great! Bluetooth and phone hookup are fine as well, back up cam is OK aswell!

Looked great installed on my 96 Bronco. I even managed to make a test phone call without issues. Professionally installed with the addition of a scosche wiring harness connector. 5 minutes later when I planned to get back on the truck and go for a drive to test the radio functionality- it came in and then shut off on its own, never to come back on. I tried the factory reset button and check both the radio and truck fuses and both were ok! . Completely unacceptable for a new (refurbished) unit. Thankfully Amazon was very responsive and is promptly managing my return of this defective unit. I may try again as the screen size and resolution seemed to be of excellent quality - disappointing that this particular unit may be a lemon. Returning it today ..

I know there are better brands than Boss, but for the price and it being single din I really can’t complain. The sound quality is obviously much better than the 20 year old stock radio, the screen is clear and responsive. The only downside is you can’t auto connect to CarPlay if your steering wheel doesn’t have a voice button. You have to connect it via the USB cable, which isn’t that big of a deal to me. Overall good product.

This is a great upgrade for my 25 year old truck with one small problem.First off I love that I can now use Android auto in my old truck and how adjustable the settings are. I'm able to create my own EQ as well as separate sub controls. The reverse camera is a plus. I was able to bypass the parking wire by attaching it to ground. I understand why they want you to connect it but just don't be dumb and do things you shouldn't while driving. The camera mount tucks nicely behind the license plate so all you see is the small square camera. You're able to adjust the lines and remove them if you want on the video.Now the problem. When I am connected to Bluetooth and playing music it has a scratchy sound on the highs. This is super annoying since my 13 year old head unit that I replaced never had that problem (my trucks speakers have been upgraded properly years ago so that's not the problem). If I connect it through the USB it sounds perfect. I tried another phone to see if it was just my phone and no it did it on that one too so it's the head unit. Even in my 2019 Subaru with an Android auto head unit when connected to Bluetooth sounds fine. I been playing with settings to try to figure it out but I am unable to for now. I guess that is something I will have to deal with to have the extra features.Other than that since I just installed it, it seems like a great head unit. I will update this review if anything changes.UPDATE: 3/4/2023So no fix for the bad sound quality on Bluetooth. Ended up purchasing a wireless Android auto device which made it nice so I don't have to plug my phone in anymore for Android auto and music. The Bluetooth sound quality is perfect on that so that fixed my issue.Also the camera quality on bright days is not good it gets washed out. I have been noticing a fuzzyness to the video as well. This can be fixed with a better camera but this will do fine for me since all I'd use it for is lining up for a trailer.Still recommend.
