I love these shoes in all ways! I'd been eyeing the Run Star Motion for a while because I really liked how they look. But I was cautious in finally deciding to purchase them for a couple of reasons. In my late 40s now, I'm significantly feeling the abuse I've put my body through in the past. This has included being a college level basketball player and my time at the Air Force Academy, where I experienced a hard landing (OK....crash) in a helicopter. Beyond that, I did all the miles of related running with VERY flat feet. Having owned traditional Chucks in the past, I know how brutal they can be for someone like me walking around without any "built in" arches of my own. But after doing some research, I decided that reviews seem to generally agree on the comfort and support these might provide, so I took the risk. And I love them! They do have a nice insert that provides great cushion, and because they are literally about an inch and a half off the ground they're about as opposite of traditional Chucks as possible. Of note, I'm 5'8 1/2 barefoot. These shoes put me around 5'10. It took me a moment to adjust to how they feel to walk in them, but only a moment. I would have liked a bit more arch support, but I've never gotten that with ANY traditional running shoes without customization anyway. Any I don't plan to actually go "running" in these. Despite their name, I'd say the sole is designed to more of a walking shoe regardless. I'm in Western North Carolina, so we've had to do a bit of walking lately, and I have no complaints or additional pain to show. And that's rare! I've always been a sneaker addict, and these might be my favorite shoes ever in appearance. I have to warn you, though, about wearing these in public. Be prepared for strangers stopping you to say how cool your shoes are and where to get them. For someone as extroverted as me, it's great! However, if you're an introvert or somehow loathe compliments, brace yourself.
