Makes a large blade feel small
This thing is awesome. I don't care what anyone says this is an awesome bushcraft knife. Multifunctional if I could I would EDC it. Don't expect to skin animals with it. But I can find no flaws for 35$ this is one of the best buys on Amazon. So easy to keep it razor sharp. Very comfortable and handles like a 5 inch blade. I stopped using my bk-16!Part 2: This is in reference to all the negative reviews. Unfortunately, Cold Steel does have some quality control issues that I'd say 1 out of 10 slips by that has miserable quality. Handle, blade and or heat treat could be completely off. I've come to recognize this being a collector for the past 20yrs. Mostly the folders have these issues or the machetes. With that said, these things are so mass produced that this is what happens unfortunately. But return it,and get one to replace it. I paid 35$ and included that possibility into the price factor. Fortunately mine arrived mint and razor sharp. And I test the heat treat asap by batoning a few wood logs with every knife. 90% chance of receiving a perfect Chinese manufactured knife is pretty damn good compared to a ton of other companies out there. And to those who say it's not a good utility,do-it-all knife??? Watch the videos on YouTube. It's a tanto. That limits you right there. As far as bushcraft,I just had to adjust what I'm normally used to in a bushcraft knife. The saber grind makes it awkward at first. But I've adjusted my grip angle and it works perfectly and batons 6.5inch pieces of semi hardwood. For 35$,Don't complain. Buy a Mora??? That can't do half the tasks this can do. This is very multifunctional, do not get it wrong!!!

Yet Another Hit from ColdSteel
This knife is an absolute beast. As long as my forearm, sharp as all hell, strong thick blade, incredible sheath all that and more for under $50?There might be some that slip through qc, but I have been buying ColdSteel knives since 1984 and have never had a problem with them standing behind their products.I bought this for a "heavy use" knife, but now I'm going to order a few more for bobs and maybe a new "truck knife".Do yourself a favor and get one.

Like it
I just got this in the mail today ( I have no idea why so early) but I've been messing around with, I'm only giving 4 stars cuz I haven't actually tried it yet but from what I can see this is a good knife, it's well built, blade is sharp as heck (cut a few thick pieces of cardboard went right through), handle seems to be very good materials as well, over all this knife is worth the 43 bucks is you ask me well build, solid materials , sharp/sturdy blade, and as you can see from the picture it's nice looking. If you do buy it enjoy

Might just be my new favorite piece in my Cold Steel collection
One of my favorite Cold Steel knives in my collection and I've only had it for 2 days. Great knife. Wow. The size is perfect, not overly large but definitely packing more punch than my Kobun or my Recon Folder, my other two tanto blades from Cold Steel. The Recon fits the hand well and it's Secure-Ex sheath is extremely well constructed. The blade geometry is interesting. It has a bit more belly in a portion near the center than I expected from the photos but it is very welcome. I love this knife. It will definitely be at my side when the zombies come. ;)

Great blade at a reasonable price
Ive owned 2 cold steel blades in the last 5 years, the mini tac tanto and now this one, the mini tac preformed admirably, even though this recon tanto is not aus8a i am expecting it to be quite the preformer as well, youtube has a 23min vid of a couple good ol boys putting this same model through knife "hell" and it barely suffered at all, so good job cold steel on a well made blade 👍👍 btw came shaving sharp right out of the box

Improvements on the old Recon Tanto (except steel is a downgrade)
I have both this one and the old Carbon V Recon Tanto. The main differences are, other than the type of steel, the new one (this one) the black finish on the blade is much rougher and the textures on the grip are a little more coarse. I think the grip on this one will give a better grip in really dirty conditions. I love this one as much as my old one, and was really blown away by this one's price. I like the shorter ricasso (edge goes closer to the handle before it terminates), and I really love the new sheath as opposed to the old cordura one.
