Super Moss 7 59834 90509 7 Orchid Potting Kit, 200 in3 Box (Appx. 8oz), Chartreuse

I inherited a black thumb. Plants come to my home and my predecessor's home to die. That said, I keep receiving Phal orchids as gifts and wanted to try to keep them alive. I got this stuff after doing some research online about what orchids like and don't like. It seemed like a good idea. Please keep in mind, I know nothing about raising orchids.Pros:It is packaged well, easy to distribute. The moss is alive I think.Cons:There are no instructions. At least not any that a novice can find helpful. Should I soak the bark before I pot the orchid? Dunno. There is a lot of guessing for those of us who are not savvy.Would I recommend?I suppose. None of the orchids I've planed in it have died. We're at a good few months in at this point. I have this medium in 2 types of pots. One is a Lechuza that has pon on the bottom. That one I run water through it for about 2 minutes then I leave it alone. The other is a fishbowl with rocks on the bottom. I worry about that one as the rocks are supposed to be what's helping the water drain. I'm starting to think I need to let the water sit for a day, then pour it all out.As for the product, it functions as designed.

Unless you are only repotting one or two orchids, don't waste your money. The packaging was slick and the contents were as described but this item is hugely overpriced. I have a dozen orchids to repot and this only had enough material for two. After I went on line and saw how cheap the items were individually, I realized just how much I overpaid.

This is pretty good. I needed to repot my orchid and purchased this. I had a larger pot already, but needed material to fill in the extra space. This kit has bark and moss, along with metal stakes and clips. Doesn't seem like there's enough material for 4 plants though, unless you count the original planting material already with your plant (depends on the size of pot too). 3.5 stars for having stakes/clips, good moss.

I love this kit. I got a new pot for my orchid to repot it. This kit came with everything I needed. I loved it and my orchid even looks better thanks to this kit. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to repot or plant their orchids.

The kit has everything I needed to repot a couple of my orchids. Instead of buying each product separately ( and usually they're sold in bulk of 30, 50 or 100 pieces!) I had bark, moss, spikes, and clippers in one box!

I am new at growing orchids. Got one as a gift, and now it is growing new leaves. This is a very generous and complete kit.
