A few of the tomatoes I covered have gotten taken by pests, but that's much better than every single one which was happening before I put the bags on. So I would say it was worth the money and effort to cover them up .---Original review:I loved the idea but a couple days after installing these this is what I found.

I bought these to try and protect the apples in my two small apple tree apples from coddling moths without using pesticides like I did in the past. They have draw strings and were pretty easy to cinch up on the small apples. I ended up installing 400 bags in probably four hours, when the apples were a little larger than the size of a quarter. RESULTS: The bags were about 80% effective in preventing coddling moth damage. It would have probably been better if I'd installed them when they were the size of a dime. They had the added benefit of protecting the apples pretty well from damage by birds, racoons and deer. That result is better than my past results using pesticides, where at least a third to a half of the apples were either infested or eaten by pests. CONCLUSIONS: The bags are easy to install and remove, but this method does add additional time compared to spraying. They are reusable, so I plan to install them again next year. Overall, very happy with the purchase and results.

We have a small home apple orchard and have had trouble with squirrels stealing fruit, birds pecking the fruit, and worms in the apples. Late in the season I decided to order these bags to protect the fruit that was remaining. The bags have drawstrings and are easy to fasten over the apples. So far there seem to be doing the job and I haven't lost any additional fruit. A bonus is that if an apple falls off the tree, I can easily see the bag in the grass, and the apple still seems protected from insects. The bags seem pretty strong and I expect to use them for at least several years. Next year I will try to get them on before the codling moths arrive and see if I can prevent the worms.

These fruit protection bags are pretty hard to keep tied onto the tree. They just don't stay in place well, the tie ribbons are slick and come untied in the wind. When they do get blown away, they get tattered and torn up pretty easy.

The bags were easy to put on each fruit. The birds and squirrels did not bother my fruits. I had a nice harvest. I wished I had used known about these earlier. Definitely would recommend these to everyone.

We got these too late into summer to actually use them, but for the price I will say that there’s a lot more bags than I had expected. I have no doubt that these will work as intended, though it is a lot of work to individually place each of these if you’ve got a big fruit tree. I can’t stand ugly brown holes in our apples though, so I’ll be out on the ladder next spring deploying these moth larva blockers!
