Works straight out of the bag
Purchased this to give faster access to some older LaCie external hard drives that I originally accessed with firewire but which I was now having to use with USB2 giving a disappointing 35MB/S throughput.Took the chenyang CY USB 3.0 to eSATA Adapter out of the bag, plugged one end in to a USB port on my Dell (Win 11) and the other end into a LaCie drive and straight away the drive was recognized and I was getting about 170MB/S (on my fastest LaCie - slower on my oldest drive but that's not a problem with the adapter). The product claims 5Gb/S (625MB/s) so I am in no way pushing its claimed max capability with my use but it's doing exactly what I need so very happy with it. Note that my drives all use separate external power so I didn't test power transfer through the adapter at all - I don't need it.

Works fine with G-Raid drives
I bought this cable to connect my 10 year old G-Raid drives (which only have e-sata and firewire ports) to a modern laptop (USB-C). It works fine. The drives need to have their own power supply of course.

Didn't work for me. Maybe I need a standard eSata
I needed mine to work with a USB-A female to female adaptor but that cabling arrangement didn't work. Can't say if this cable as the problem or something else. Also the issue might be that I needed a standard eSata and not a 'Power over eSata' which this is. The product title doesn't reflect this. A newbie like myself wouldn't be able to figure this out with the vague images and description that hints at the difference.
