Medicube Age-R USSERA Facial Treatment Device - at-Home Skin Care Device for Collagen Stimulation Wrinkle Reduction, and Youthful Complexion - Korean Skin Care

TLDR: This machine was designed to encourage collagen production from the inner layers of the skin by triggering a "healing response". I am a college student, have combo skin, some PIE/scarring, and rosacea, and purchased it while it was on sale--so far, I have experienced slight plumping in my skin, and my skin has been much more even in tone and glowy. I would highly recommend it for those interested in trying out at-home Korean skincare devices as long as you follow all instructions, but YMMV while using it, especially if your skin is not considered "light to moderate in laxity," or if you have a condition that makes your skin more sensitive to heat. I will be updating again with more long-term results in a few months. I wasn't endorsed by Medicube to post this review.I recently purchased the Medicube Age-R USSERA after contemplating buying a Ziip, and feeling it was VERY expensive and out of my personal budget for skincare products. I am a college student, am too poor to afford facials, and turned 24 this year, so I definitely entered the market for a personal skincare device and decided to give Medicube a try; with glowing endorsements from K-Drama actresses and Tati, and a Black Friday sale, it was hard NOT to consider getting it.The USSERA is extremely simple to use, and comes with the charging stand and cable you need to get it powered on. It does not, however, come with the conducive stem cell-based gel that is necessary to put it directly onto your skin without feeling discomfort. I had to purchase that separately for about $30. The gel is meant to be placed directly onto the head of the device, and then the device is placed onto problematic/aging areas you want to treat. I found it to be very hydrating and soothing.According to a blog/review post I discovered by Dr. Anne, Medicube created the USSERA to stimulate collagen production by using radiofrequency to generate heat to penetrate the dermis, similarly to a Thermage trearment, except it's intended to leave the epidermis/outer layer untouched. I followed Medicube's explicit instructions to avoid using higher levels of heat when using the device for the first time, treating the same spots on the skin more than once (as this can lead to loss of fat in the face or neck, or irritation/burning, which are not good), and using it for longer periods without letting it cool for 10 minutes in-between. It beeps several times and stops to notify you when the shots of radiofrequency have finished being released into the skin, so you can move onto the next area.After using it, my skin felt much tighter than before, and I felt a slight warmth emanating from it. My skin was slightly red immediately after, and fairly sensitive for several days. It wasn't painful to use the device at all, save for when I didn't put enough gel on the head (ouch!).I would not recommend using actives or chemical exfoliants for a while afterwards. I also would not use it as frequently as others online may recommend it, as everyone's skin is different and YMMV. I am going to take longer gaps in between treatment so that my skin has time to heal properly, as I've noticed small amounts of dryness and some peeling. The size of my pores, overall texture, and plumpness of my skin have all definitely improved. The changes are very gradual, but I believe they will get even better over time.It is important to note that while this has been slightly effective for me so far, according to Dr. Anne, ideal candidates for the USSERA may not have been ideal for laser treatments (due to hyperpigmentation/melasma), and appear to be primarily middle-aged, with light to moderate skin laxity. If you are within those categories, this device will probably work more efficiently for you! Once again though, YMMV.I believe this device will be very worth the investment, and will update again when I have been using it for a few mofe months. As of now, I highly recommend it to all considering purchasing it and willing to give it a shot! :)PROS:-Cheaper alternative to other, more expensive at-home skin care devices on the market-Simple and relatively painless to use-Conducive gel is very hydrating, lasts for quite a long time per tube-Rechargeable, comes with stand, and very sleek-Instructions are fairly simple to follow, recommended usage and care schedules can be found online-Can be used alongside your skincare routine (without actives or irritating ingredients for certain periods)CONS:-Can still be quite expensive for others who simply cannot afford fitting a device like this into their skincare budgets--gel can also be pricey-Risk of burning or fat loss in the skin if used incorrectly, or at too high of heat levels-Can cause temporary redness/sensitivity/peeling-Ideal mainly for certain candidates (middle-aged, light-moderate skin laxity, without certain sensitivities to heat from pre-existing conditions like Diabetes)-Need to use consistently and cautiously to see results and long-term benefits-Needs to be used alongside a PROPER skincare routine!

I’ve been using for one week and I already see a difference in my smile lines. Very pleased with this product.

I have so many medicube devices and this one has been one of the only ones I don’t have , I was so excited to finally get it , I bought 2 one for me and one for my medical spa . They don’t work , I used one 1 time and then it stopped working all together , every time I power it on it just powers off again . I’m disgusted with it . I have to return because it’s literally the biggest let down .

Satisfied customer completely. I'm in my middle 40's and the Ussera device won me over with the positive results. My skin looks and feels softer. The tiredness that I noticed before starting using ussera diminished, and the texture of my skin improve. I purchased facial treatments from my local beautician and had better results from doing them myself. In the long run this device will save me money and now I have better control over my aging skin. I also use in combination with the Age-R device which I purchased from the company's website. Advice to the buyers, do not be stingy with the gel or results won't be the same. Available from their website or amazon (medicube store). I chose amazon due to the available amazon locker hub pick up option.

Photo 1:I purchased this product on December 10 and used it every other day for three months. However, the results are not as dramatic as the advertisements suggested. If you're considering purchasing this product, I recommend making your own decision based on these photos.Photo 2:Today is October 6, 2024, approximately 10 months after I began using the product every other day. I started with level 3 and now primarily use level 4. Be patient! I’ve been using for over 6 months and have finally started to notice a big difference in the tightness of my skin, almost all fine lines have disappeared! Granted I do also get Botox but my jowls have tightened quite a bit. Definitely worth it.

This product does what it says. Implements input of Collagen into skin. Love it!!!

I can not tell if this has done anything. It's disappointing. I was very diligent with it for a long time—months.
