Sizes a bit off
Great pants, just know your size vs their sizes. The waist is small, the length is long. For example, I normally wear 36x34, I ordered 38X34, The waist is perfect, (I already knew Carthartt to run small in the waist) the legs are a bit on the long side, in the future I will order 38x32 .

Much smaller than they used to be
Last year I purchased two pair of Carhartt Men's Rugged Cargo Pant in Relaxed Fit 36x30. They were falling off of me and required a belt to hold them up from the beginning. During that year, I lost 20 pounds. A year later, I purchased two identical cargo pants and they are too tight. The labels said 36x30, but they're really 34x30. I made the mistake of trusting they would be the same and washed them without trying them on. Manufacturing switched from China to India. I'm guessing there's no quality control on checking/verifying the sizing in the United States.Just a problem the customer will have to deal with and second guess. This brand's colors fade a lot. Not just a little, a lot.Second time around, there was some really weird hand cut, reinforcing on the inside of the pants at the top of cargo pockets. On the plus side, the cargo pocket were a little higher.

It serves the purpose but needs more size options.
Too long, but that's a matter of product availability, not correct sizes. Amazon will note that I selected "fits as expected" when I began writing this review.See, I need cargo pants for work. Durable ones. Well, what I ACTUALLY need is khaki or tan pants, but I prefer the cargo style to hold my various implements (phone, wallet, store-issued box cutter) in assorted pockets instead of trying to dig through a pile of stuff in ONE pocket for whatever I need for a given task. And I need durable ones because I've gone through two pairs of pants already that have holes in the pockets just from the corner of my phone case poking into it... a soft case, at that. Not even a hole on the inside where the phone is actually kept, but on the outside where it's visible for customers and fellow employees to see (I wear a long shirt that I don't tuck in, but it isn't THAT long). The problem is finding a pair that fits. I can't seem to find any of these locally, so trying them on to make sure they fit before buying is not an option. So I basically have to buy a pair and hope for the best.My waistline tends to fluctuate according to my success (or lack thereof) losing weight--right now 36 is on the snug side and I'm trying to lose enough to consistently wear 34--but the very smallest inseam size available is too long! I have to hem these up in order to avoid catching the bottoms on my shoes; I really need a 29 inseam at the biggest, and 28 (which I've never seen anywhere, at least not combined with the necessary waist) would be even better.

Back to the 80's Quality.
I have been looking for the perfect cargo pants since the 1980's. When my last pair of Bugle Boys blew out in the mid 90's all there was to be had were slim legs and puffed out pockets. The closest I came were Dickies Cargo Pants, loose fit, pleated. Today Dickies can't make two legs in the same pants the same length. So, I tried Carhart. These. Loose in the leg for movement, watch pocket, jean style metal button, flat LARGE Cargo pockets, every seam is triple stitched, and the material is soft. Belt loops can fit standard belts and dress belts. These can be an Office or in the Field Pant. They are dress khakis. I WILL ORDER MORE before these disappear too or they are on constant back order.

These are the best cargo pants I think I've ever owned
These are the best cargo pants I think I've ever owned, and I've tried many brands. The fit was perfect, Carhartt uses the same standard sizing as Levis or Dockers, so if you've ever owned a pair of pants from them, you know how these will fit. The impressive things about these pants: the material is the best quality stitched expertly without little threads hanging off like you'll find on cheaper brands. They're soft and extremely comfortable. The cargo pockets are huge. They have snap fasteners instead of that crappy velcro which gives them a neater, more business like appearance and you can throw them in with your other laundry without the damage velcro can do to clothes when you put it in the dryer. Everywhere you look on these pants they are quality. I was a little hesitant about spending $40 for a pair of pants when other brands are cheaper. After spending the money though, it was worth it. I expect these pants to last longer than the cheaper ones I have. The picture on Amazon of these pants doesn't do them justice, they are relaxed fit, but the quality of the fabric and quality of construction come through and I'd say they're more than adequate for a business casual workplace.

Order a size or 2 larger
In all fairness it’s hard to determine how a product is going to fit unless you try it on but I found with these (if your a muscular person) to order a size or 2 larger. These pants fit great, in fact I’ll wear these anywhere I go, From work to play. There also very light which I’m looking forward to wearing in the summer.Lastly the pockets are big and are perfect. You won’t hve a problem with not having room to holster a couple knives, pens, markers and anything else you may need for the job.My one complaint is the cell phone pocket. I wish it was deeper like my other cathartic pants because I worry about it falling out.No regrets with this purchase!

Convenient, but not durable.
Ive owned many pairs of Carhartt's in 4 years of construction, and thought these would be the same quality as the more expensive ones sold at Mark's for $70. Wrong - they are not. If you do any type of work where you are on your knees a lot, such as plumbing, the knees will wear out in no time. This seems to be a common problem with Carhartt pants, and I don't know why they don't make lighter pants with reinforced knees. These would be great as hiking pants or for outdoor activities, with the big pockets and light weight, but don't buy these for work pants.

Quality Construction and Good Value
I am very happy with these pants, color and fit are as expected. I take a 34W 34L and these fit very nice with lots of length.

Carhartt Men's rugged pants
Pants are OK, material nice. The only thing was - pants were too long and needed shortening.
