A Hilariously Misplaced Review: Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Meets ROG Ally
Oh, dear reader, let me regale you with the tale of my accidental journey into the realm of gadgetry mismatch! Picture this: I, an unsuspecting tech enthusiast, eagerly awaited the arrival of the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro, not for its intended mate, the Steam Deck, but for my faithful ROG Ally. Oh, the hilarity that ensued!Firstly, let's address the elephant in the room – the compatibility issue. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, except in this case, it's more like trying to fit a steamroller into a go-kart. The Spigen Rugged Armor Pro, designed with precision for the Steam Deck, found itself utterly befuddled when faced with the sleek curves of my ROG Ally. It's akin to trying to dress a giraffe in a tuxedo – sure, it's entertaining to watch, but ultimately futile. Now, onto the aesthetics. Imagine dressing your sophisticated ROG Ally in what can only be described as the equivalent of a medieval suit of armor. Yes, the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro is undeniably rugged – it's as if it was crafted for a device planning to embark on a perilous quest through the treacherous mountains of tech mishaps. Meanwhile, my ROG Ally, a suave and elegant machine, looked positively bemused, wondering why it was suddenly donning battle gear. But let's not judge a case solely by its lack of compatibility and mismatched style – oh no! Let's talk about functionality. Surprisingly, despite its misguided purpose, the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro did manage to provide some level of protection to my ROG Ally. It's like wearing ski goggles to a sunny beach – not entirely necessary, but hey, it gets the job done in a peculiarly effective way.In conclusion, dear reader, if you find yourself in possession of a Spigen Rugged Armor Pro designed for the Steam Deck and an ROG Ally, I implore you – don't let this comedy of errors deter you. Embrace the absurdity, relish in the mismatched charm, and who knows, perhaps you'll stumble upon a new trend in tech fashion. As for me, I'll be over here, eagerly awaiting the release of a case actually designed for my ROG Ally. Until then, I'll enjoy the laughs this delightful mishap brings.

Spigen brings the chonk
First off, this thing is CHONKY. When I first opened the box, I was surprised at the sheer size of it. I debated returning based on size alone since I purchased this to be my travel setup. But after looking it over and inspecting the design and materials, I had no option but to keep it.Shell looks and feels fantastic. The top does have a little give due to the cavernous storage space on the inside. One dislike, though: the central strap does hold the SD in place, but tilting it side to side does cause the SD to shift and bump into the molding of the case - you can hear and feel it when it does this. My guess is they over approximated the handheld molding to accommodate grip cases, which is something a LOT of case manufacturers fail to do. I needed a push to buy a grip case anyway.Storage space above the Deck as mentioned before is pretty cavernous. I initially had reservations about it being directly above the Deck, but the netting is doubled up, leaving only a little give from a heavy load. I put my external battery,(Insignia 80W 26,800 mah) some cables, and polish cloth in there with tons of room to spare. The netting also had little give with the battery in there. Since I'll be traveling with this stored on its side, I don't see much issue with it.The storage space under the Deck is also a nice touch. It won't quite fit the standard charger, but I ordered the 45W Samsung travel charger, which should fit just fine.Another weird upside: due to its more forgiving molding design, it's pretty easy to rotate the SD in the case and charge it while zipped up.The strap is also a point of contention for the case. The strap itself is rigid with little give - which is good - and lined in a nice microfiber fabric. The lash point on the case is a nice Spigen branded metal buckle that feels incredibly secure in use. I don't really use the strap on my original case, so this wasn't a selling point for me. However, I could see it being pretty reliable for someone on the fence about it being anchored on the corner of the case.Overall, I really like this chonky boi. I'm a sucker for little details and even down to the little YKK zips are Spigen branded. Comparing this to the Valve case is a night and day difference. This has that premium look that really compliments the SD. If you can look beyond the size, it's an absolutely fantastic case.

4 Stars because
I bought this case for my MSI Claw 8 AI Plus, because the official Claw Travel Case II wont release until Mid March, and I cant leave my device un protected. This is a pretty solid case but sadly my Claw 8 AI does not fit. The Claw has a bigger screen but is nearly the same size as the Steam Deck overall. I am not giving this item a full 5 stars is due to paying full price, for an item that was clearly already open and used, and then put back into the plastic and the ripped open box lid. Other than that, this is perfect the anyone with a Steam Deck. PS. I purchased the version of this for the Legion Go. Hopefully its unopened.

Very large case
This is a very large case. Seems very rugged and the middle velcro strap holds the steam deck very well. Small compartment on the bottom under the flap fits the official charger, zipper pouch on the top of the case can fit a USB power bank, SD cards, and other accessories easily. This case basically can hold everything you want on the go, but again this case is large, much bigger than I expected. I ended up returning it because the size is too big for my use case. I also ordered it because someone mentioned it fits the Dbrand killswitch case and while it does fit the killswitch it sits a bit awkward due to the accessory attachment bump on the killswitch case and sits a bit high taking up some of the space for the top zippered area. If you rip/cut out the bottom compartment flap maybe it would fit better, but I did not like it as it is. Also if you have the killswitch travel cover installed, it absolutely does not fit.
