Near Perfect!
The ideal fountain pen for me is one that produces a very thin but well saturated line. I like my script to be thin and crisp. This pen with its extra-fine nib delivers and is highly reliable. (Sailor Black ink used) The nib is incredibly smooth for an EF. Beyond that the all-black appearance is unique and beautifully done. The pen is light weight and comfortable for long writing sessions. As I prefer not to post my pens when I write my only wish would be that the barrel were a bit longer.

Beautiful pen and smooth writer
I love everything about this pen. The black trim just makes it look and feel more luxurious and mysterious to me. The metal grip section feels nice and weighty. To me, it doesn’t feel slippery like the metal section on the LAMY Studio, but it may be due to the shape of the section. The nib is juicy and ultra smooth. This is the smoothest Sailor nib that I have in my collection, and I love it.

Very nice pen
I waited a few years for this pen to come down in price, it was well worth it; uncapped the balance is nice, the fine nib lays a wet line, while a couple of my other 14k and 21k Sailor pens started writing light. It's the elegant antithesis of flashy pens.It will be the one pen for which I will follow the manufacturer's suggestion of only using their brand of ink given the nib's coating. Remember to get a converter.

This is way better than I though it would be!
I remember seeing a lot of videos online about fountain pens and I got a lot of recommendations to try the sailor 1911. The japanese have outdone themselves on this pen. I purchase this extra fine pen to do Caligraphy and also as an everyday pen. I wish this pen wasn't so expensive. But it was well worth the price. I have no regrets on purchasing this. If I ever lose this pen I will freak out.
