Technical Analysis for Dummies Paperback – January 1, 2011

Book gives an overview of and introduction to the various technical indicators that one commonly can use on the on-line discount brokers websites. An excellent primer. It gives basic strategies: criteria for buying or selling depending on the indicators. First "For Dummies" book for me - was originally put off by the phrase, but they do an excellent job.

If you work in finance, like I do, this book isn't the best. It gets the points across with lots of examples, and clearly it was written for someone with no underlying knowledge of Securities and Analysis. I'd recommend this book for someone curious about the stock market, or anyone looking for more insight as to how wall st traders do their thing. Not a bad read. It's very well laid out, and navigation through the digital edition is a breeze.

I've been there, done that and the author goes beyond the technicals. Very important, which she goes into is the psychology of trading. In this case, the "market" psychology, including market sentiment, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to new and intermediate traders who only depend on technicals. They don't always work 100%. Coupled with the market psychology she covers, it all begins to make better sense and the indicators begin to produce better signals, once this aspect of trading is learned and well understood.

Though I have an interest in investing, this book was a bit over my head so I cannot say I got much from it.

I've been trying to learn technical analysis for a long time; working my way down in difficulty level. I finally made it "down" to this book and it cleared everything up nicely. I did have to read the entire book. It's a difficult subject to go "a la carte." If you're having trouble with understanding the subject give this a read, you'll like it.

This is "For Dummies" based on the title, so please don't forget that.Having zero background in technical analysis and some experience in fundamental analysis and finance, I learned A LOT from this book. The Kindle layout is far from great, but that is not the author's fault, so I give it 5 stars.

I have many books through kindle but this title has parts of it that are not really readable. I would request a refund if possible!Great news! Amazon issued a full refund so that means you can buy Kindle books with confidence. It is sad that a Dummy title didn't work well on the Kindle platform, at least for iOS. Perhaps an update will fix it the Kindle reader if that is the issue, or an update to the book formatting if that is the issue. I hope it is resolved soon. I really like the Dummy books, they are a great foundation to so many areas of interest. I also like the Kindle reader for iOS, I own many titles, great reader. This is a one off situation and was handled well by Amazon. Again buy Kindle books with confidence, Amazon stands behind them well!As a follow up the book itself is very good, the book gets a 5 star rating! Buy it! Read it! Lots of good, practical advice. I joined an investment group with a 'guru' running it, that had no stop loss in place. No selling because they knew the price would come back up it always had before. He lead a group of investors to 90% losses, then to 99% losses of what was left. So if you want to lose allot of money fast follow the advice of a guru bcause they just know, track record or not. Usually they figure out how to make money by investing on cycles repeating and it's when the cycles stop repeating that they know the cycle will repeat. Better to follow the advice in this book. Use stop loss, respect that, and use a little money for opportunities that happen all over the markets each year. The TA stuff is great for entry and exits of stocks as well as many things, by getting the timing better you stand to make more money, as well by following good risk management you will be exiting trades that were going nowhere.

I have learn a great amount with this book. if you are a beginner this is the book to clear thing out. I think I does need a little more examples but I have learn alot
