Great to hold keys and locks on
We purchase these for my work to put employees personal LOTO locks and keys on that way they are always available. Pros; they seem to hold up well to a manufacturing environment. Cons: Would be nice if they had different colors. Overall I would definitely recommend

Heavy, very strong.
Good size for what I needed. A bit tough to push back the clip, but securely springs back. A little heavier than expected.

Solid, a few didn’t open properly but decent
Used them for heavy duty outdoor gazebo curtains and they are super sturdy. A very small percentage didn’t open properly, but I was pleased with the purchase.

NOT AS ADVERTISED - NOT 5/16"
FALSE ADVERTISING!These are not 5/16" which is what is advertised here. THEY ARE SMALLER. Don't buy these expecting to receive 5/16"!I have 5/16" carabineers here that ARE ACTUALLY 5/16" and the ones from this seller are 1/4". (See photos... The dark ones are my original 5/16"; the shiny silver ones are 1/4" - the ones from this seller.)I ordered these because the description said they were 5/16" which is what I needed for my application. Also -Be Advised- I highly doubt that these can hold 500lbs as the description indicates. The actual 5/16" carabineers that I already have here (not the ones from this order) are way thicker, heavier and more substantial, and they are only rated for 200lbs, and the ones from this seller are thinner and lighter, so be advised that you may not want to trust these up to the weight stated by the seller for any application that matters!

Rusty bags and incomplete chroming - Question of long-term durability
I purchased these carabiners for a friend to use in Nicaragua on a mission project. Upon receiving them, here is what he said: "I see that the bags have a brown rust in it. It seems to be on the plastic. I opened the dirtiest bag and the rust seems to be primarily on the inside of the bag. The carabiners I looked at look OK. However, if there is any rust that has started, I am thinking that they may either: 1. Not be well galvanized with small, hard to get at places already starting to rust like the hinge area or area where the spring is located. 2. The bag may be brown but not the carabiners because the plastic absorbs the rust away from the carabiners. In time, when they are outside the bag I wonder if they they could go bad.The springs on 5 of them are strong and will hold them closed, for sure. And I looked over them, all 5 were shiny and showed no surface rust. But it came from somewhere. I can try to put a drop of oil on each hinge hoping it would stop rusting…not sure."Later he sent a second email to me and said this: "I oiled all the hinges. Some were rather stuck, but the oil helped. I am sending you a couple pictures of some of the carabiners. If you will look closely, you will see that the lighter color, next to the little round pin, at the hinge, the chrome failed to attach to the metal. It is more obvious in real life. They are silver, chrome colored in real life! The carabiners are not galvanized, rather they are chromed. Chrome is better, but unfortunately they did not all get covered."All in all, we hope they work fine this trip but are concerned for the rust dust, the incomplete chroming, some stuck gates and whether they will rust in the future in storage and be compromised. Thanks, Steve Haymond, Amazon customer
