Tales of Zestiria Vol. 1 (Tales of Zestiria, 1) Paperback – June 13, 2017

Watched the anime before finding this manga series. Have not plaid the game yet and knew next to nothing about the Tales Series before watching the anime. Got the manga because I loved the yaoi and yuri undertones this fantasy story had. Was surprise to find the manga has a slightly different but more canon and in depth telling of the story then the anime did. Upon further research the manga seems to be a more accurate adaptation of the original game then the anima is. I was more just ecstatic to see the hints and repour between Sorey and Mikleo was more prevalent in the manga. Even if you don't know the Tales Series this whole story can be read as a stand alone piece and it is very well written. 10/10 in this nerds opinion because I really did enjoy the characters and plot.

The Tales series has a roller coaster of a history when it comes to its manga quality, but Zestiria’s is fortunately one of the good ones. Everything from the art to the characterizations to the top notch localization efforts are worthy of praise.Being only four volumes, the manga does change and cut some things, but I think most of them are understandable given the space restraints. On the plus side it also expands on some things and does so really well (Sorey’s issue with trying to be too independent at the start, for example), which I really appreciate.All in all an excellent adaptation that I can’t praise enough! Definitely worth the read!

I bought all 4 volumes of the Zestiria manga and really enjoyed it. If I had any criticism is that its a bit short, cutting out at least 50% of the game even though it does have original material the game and anime did not. The art is beautiful, even more so than the anime. And I did enjoy the anime and game a lot.

I am a pretty big fan of the Tales series. I wasn't a huge fan of the second season of the anime. THAT SAID: I really enjoyed the first volume of the manga. The artwork is beautiful. I feel that they did the story justice. As you do, there are some changes as some things don't translate well from screen to book, but I still feel it is a solid vlume and a good addition for any Tales fan.

Great buy everyone should have this one.
