The best
Saphir always makes the best leather care products. Use sparingly, it only takes a tiny bit to restore your shell cordovan products.

Classic styling
I have found the boot paste takes a small amount to create the luster shine you might require. It helps if you prepare the leather first on a clean surface. Apply mink oil with a cloth and let this dry then buff. Apply the sapphire cream sparely, a little dab will do you, with a cloth and rub it in with circular motions. Allow the cream to dry then bunk with a cloth. The shine usually is mirror like.

It's saphir
Like the title says, it is made by a company who makes consistently the best products for shoe care. It did what it was supposed to. Nothing more, nothing less. That is why people choose Saphir products, they just work.

This is formulated for SHELL CORDOVAN, Not regular leather.
I picked this up to try and restore a vintage pair of Florsheim shoes from the 60s that were made from Shell cordovan. When I thrifted the shoes, the cordovan was incredibly dry especially on the vamps. It wasn’t just basic rolls that are associated with Shell, but almost like creasing that occurs with normal leather. This is an indicator of future cracking. I left some of this cordovan cream on overnight, which is a little overkill, but the results were fantastic. A good brushing the day after and the shoes have regained some of their former luster.NOTE: This is not regular leather cream, this is Shell cordovan cream. You could use this for normal leather shoes, but it won’t have as good of an effect as a dedicated non-cordovan conditioner.Shell cordovan is a membrane that’s found in a horse’s rump. It’s a very expensive material (Shell shoes cost about 1.5-2x their cow leather counterparts). It’s very dense and “plasticy”. It doesn’t dry out easily or crease, and it retains a nice shine without any polish or wax. It’s an incredibly durable material, but that comes at a cost.Shell cordovan conditioners are meant to NOT penetrate deeply. They do not have a lot of solvents. With Shell, you don’t want the conditioner penetrating deeply and causing the material to swell. If you have non-Shell cordovan shoes, check out saphir’s basic, non-cordovan cremes and polishes instead.
