Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap 2.64-Ounce Unit (Pack of 12)

My husband has been using this soap for over 5 years - he can't live without it and I don't ever want him to use anything else! This soap has a wonderful masculine and distinctive smell -- I LOVE it! It leaves his skin super soft, it cleans thoroughly, and he smells great all day long -- I don't think the smell is too faint, or too strong, it's just enough scent for you and those close to you to notice. The size of the bar is smaller than average - but it lasts just as long as a regular size bar if you lather normally. If you'd like to smell extra extra good, lather more. We buy in bulk because we make sure we never run out.The square bar (as pictured) hasn't changed in years, but if you get an oval bar (like this: Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap 2.62oz (Pack of 6)) it is NOT the same product! Why is that?! I get mine from Drugstore.com -- they ALWAYS ship the right ones.

This is my favorite soap ever! I am a bit of a soap snob and am so happy I came across this soap! It smells amazing! I don't feel like the smell lingers on me, but have been asked in public about the "nag champa" smell, so apparently it does linger a bit. It foams up like crazy. Enough foam you can wash your hair with it. I use it for my entire family, even the baby. The bars are on the small side, but they last about 20 - 25 washes. (I have used plenty of natural soaps (*ahem*zum*ahem*) that are gone in 5 or less washes. So annoying. So, while the bar is small, it does last. My husband and a couple of my kids have very sensitive skin and this soap doesn't irritate them at all. Yet, it is strong enough to get that funky boy smell off my boys. I will be buying this soap again and again.

I use this as some soaps make me break out in hives. This soap does not, I am trying it, as what was delivered is not EXACTLY what was pictured. The manufacturer is NOT the same, even though the product rights WERE bought out, upon googling "chandrika-best-soap-nature-can-offer" you will find a link showing the history of what happened to this soap. What WAS delivered is the newly packaged and in my opinion sightly altered ingredients... WHAT WAS DELIVERED as opposed to WHAT IS PICTURED is more pumice-y, a bit soapier, but does cleanse, as far as I have noticed, much the same. I still have a previously store-bought bar in the shower, and one of these new bars, and for the next few nights will alternate, and IF I don't update this in a few days/nights I am satisfied and will not return, you can take it that I have found what WAS DELIVERED to be satisfactory. If I return and edit this it will be to reveal anger at not being satisfied with being sent something that was assumed I would as a purchaser, be OK with.I AM rating it only a three as it would take an internet sales professional but minutes to take a new pic of what IS being sold, instead of what used to be... I am going to state my experience with this purchase of this product on amazon like this, I AM NOT PLEASED WITH seeing something, paying for it, and being sent a product that is NOT what was pictured, regardless of what the explanation might be. That is false advertising, whether or not I am satisfied with what I received. It should be noted that the seller I chose did contact me promptly but the explanation I got was not true, though they were courteous, they were not knowledgeable of the product, and the research it took me about an hour to do, could have been done by them and it would have saved me as the customer such a hassle. I am a busy self-employed person and should not have to research products, that should be done for me and listed in the info, I should be presented with a precise likeness of the product I will receive for my hard earned money, and lastly, I am a nice guy and should not have to be reduced to leaving a review like this. PLEASE update the pic of this product, and to all prospective buyers, contact the seller directly, whichever one you choose prior to purchase and present them with the info stated in this review, and what you learned in the "chandrika-best-soap-nature-can-offer" link... and make sure to inquire as to WHICH version of this soap you will receive, else risk getting something you may not think you were going to get.... peace folks.EDIT: product returned. TOO pumicey to the point of irritability. Scent pretty much gone after two uses. I ordered this from a location noted from another review. Lesson learned: make better sure of what I am buying in the future. Amazon NEEDS to fix this issue of false advertisement with this product.

I love this soap. Unlike most of the other reviewers, I have never used the original Chandrika soap. I ordered this exact 12 pack from Amazon and I'm sticking with it. Over the last 6 months I have eliminated dozens of my favorite soaps from use because of allergic reactions on my skin. This is the only fragrant soap that I am able to use without my skin going nuts. I get so bored with all of the sensitive, no smell soaps. This stuff has been a God send. I hand out bars whenever I hear someone is having skin issues. It's soothing, moisturizing and refreshing. Try it out. :)

I love this soap. It keeps one smelling fresh throughout the day. However, the rating has moved down to 3 stars due to this last shipment. Although the recent delivery was packaged differently and the product is more round in shape, we paid little mind to those particular changes. What's remarkable is the subtle change in formulary and I hope it is just this batch. This newest shipment has a slight scent of the organosulfur compound, Allicin, which is found in onions and garlic. We love this product due to the variety of herbs and plants used to make it. I trust this most recent product shipment is an anomaly. It does continue to clean and afterwards still does smell okay but not like prior shipments. I can't help but acknowledge that something has changed.
