Awesome resource/easy to read!
I recently ordered a copy of the Anxiety Toolkit for Teens and I am impressed. Right off the bat, I can tell you what gives me the most anxiety about parenting books…being overwhelmed with heavy information that you feel like you have to wade through. The author of this book did just the exact opposite. The information is presented in a manner that is well organized, not overly wordy or preachy and intersperses graphics and charts to make the info easy to access and reference when needed. Much appreciated!I also liked how it seemed to be written in a way that was accessible to teens as well. Any of my kids could pick up a copy and easily identify and find the information pertinent and useful without feeling like it was stigmatizing. The Anxiety Squad was super helpful in giving a name to the emotions that were overwhelming my teens. The info and advice was just so well organized and presented that this is an awesome resource to keep on hand. Life throws kids so many curveballs and this book really will be something that I feel we can go back to again and again.

Great toolkit
The book is good. Written in an easy to understand and easy to follow way. Doesn't get too academic, which I can picture scaring teens away. Finished it in one seating. I have two teenage sons. I think this could really help them. Great tools are given in this book. The real test will be if I can actually convince them there will be a benefit from reading this book. I have no doubt that if they read it, they will benefit greatly from it.

Absolutely Love!
I read this book from cover to cover in about an hour. Even tried quite a few of the exercises in that time. Book is easy to read and gives great, easy to use tools/activities to manage anxiety and stress. I cant wait to share and teach this to my kiddos at school.

Accessible
The media could not be loaded. I wanted a book that wouldn't overwhelm my teen. This one lays out ideas as simply as possible - lots of bullet points and reccuring formats so he can use it as a quick reference text. The book aslo labels things CBT and DBT and gives you a sampling of both. The whole family can look at it and come away equipped with more vocabulary and ideas.I bought the hard copy because I was able to access a digital copy on Kindle Unlimited and I was able to read it before purchasing.Exactly what I was looking for: simple, user friendly book that can jumpstart some dialogue between teen and parent.

Great advice for ALL ages!
Very highly recommended! Even though the title addresses a teen audience, this “fifty-something” found the delivery approachable and engaging. The tools in this toolkit are applicable to a much wider age range, from upper-elementary to adult. Definitely utilizing the strategies from this book in my middle school classroom in order to help my students learn how to handle life’s stresses and challenges (Social-Emotional Learning.) I’ll be recommending this book to all of the teachers and counselors at my school site. A must-read!

Excellent book
I taught it at a summer reading school. One of my students used the breathing technique taught earlier in class to stay calm and help with her pain when she twisted her ankle later in the day. I found some of the exercises helpful for me as well. It should be taught to every student.

Well written & worth your time!
As a grandmother of teens, a mother who raised a couple of teens, and someone who was a teen many years ago...I wish I would have had this book earlier in my life. I'm getting it for my grandkids but recommend my kids read it first so they can see if they feel this book will be as helpful of a tool as I think it may be.

well referenced, easy to use, great graphics
A great book with clear instructions to follow. A wide range of strategies to use, presented consistently to help dip in and out. Loved the references so you could see where the advice was coming from. Highly recommend not just for teens but also for schools, parents, carers, supporting professionals and therapists to support young people with anxiety

A toolbook to upset, confuse and stress out anxious teens
I would avoid this book. I work with young people and this book uses to medical and diagnostic terminology around anxiety disorders to a massively unhelpful extent. It will alarm and probably upset some readers, particularly those whose anxiety will already make them feel unusual but who are not yet in the clutches of clinical psychologists or psychiatrists desperate to diagnose or over-medicate. Many of the 'techniques' are not practical nor accessible - for example a one-page summary of 'semantic satiation' as a tool for dealing with 'irrational thoughts' (what 'teen' relates to that?). I have no idea who this author is nor what they do, but they clearly have no idea about teenagers, subscribe to a rigid, medicalised concept of anxiety and seemingly want to prove how clever they are by presenting a hotch-potch of therapeutic techniques in an ill-informed and inaccessible way. I hated it, think the kids I know will hate it and have pulped my copy accordingly. You have been warned.
