First I will say, the plug for this is jenky so don’t plug it in unless you’re watching it to make sure your house doesn’t catch fire. I bought this after my hardware store bug swat/zapper broke- we needed a new one. Naturally, I go on amazon to find a cheap one and come across this one, looks great especially because it bends and you can trap a bug against a surface- unlike the traditional ones which would snap at the neck after trying to do that. I get this swatter quickly and when it arrives I’m a little startled by how large the box is that it was shipped in- upon opening it I understood... it is huge, like could double as a portable camping grill huge. Could send many a volts through any intruders body huge. Could probably bring Frankenstein back to life huge. Need a defib in a snap? This’ll do the trick. Need to kill some squirrels or other varmints for stew? This’ll do. Want to turn a home run into a shooting star or send a fireball straight through your tennis opponent?? This will be all you need to start your career as a super villain or friendly neighborhood arsonist / powder struck by lightening re-enactment scene... And Incase you were wondering if it actually kills bugs, yes it does. And it traps them between the mesh so you don’t have to worry about trying to find it after you’ve zapped it. Would I buy it again? I bought it three times, for two other people- so that answers that question. Just don’t swing it too hard you might break something, or everything.

Great zapper and it really works. I was spectacle that this was just a gimmick. But after 6 months of use it really does work. The long reach and pivot head is great. I have zapped silver fish, spiders and some large bug. The larger bugs need extra zaps to deal with. You could tell it’s working as they fall off the wall or the smell of burning pests. So satisfying and gross at the same time.Also a benefit is for zapping pests on the ceiling. Most of the time they get caught into the double mesh and don’t fall into the floor. So I just take the terminated pest over to a toilet and tap into the great flush. Now for walls, it sometimes work, especially if you press the zap button several time and the pest “burns” onto the mesh.I would definitely recommend. Especially since the recharge plug is built into the bottom of the pond retractable handle.I do keep the zapper out of reach from the kids as a precaution.

I don't write many product reviews, but I have been enjoying this item too much! We've had it for 6 months now, and it still works great. It is great for those tiny fruit flies that one gets in many parts of the country (we are in Southern Cal). It's great that it has the swivel, because you can trap them against the ceiling. We used to have a different kind of bug zapper, and it didn't have that swivel. Also, the button broke after a couple years. Also, the small flies can't get through the mesh on this. The only problem with this one (reason for "only" 4 stars) was that the two screens were touching when we opened, it and it would fire (zap) for no reason. We had to slide a small rubber gasket between the two screens in order to separate them, and prevent the mis-fires. Note: this thing doesn't always kill big flies on first zap. It just stuns them. You gotta get them more than once.

They are alright, they kill tiny insects great, however the two I bought struggle with black flies. They are still great to use though

Larger bugs, like flies - only knocks them down and then they fly away. My first intended victim was a yellow jacket, but that only served to piss him off and come after me : )

Works fine - but you need to hit the flies sometimes more than once (hence the 4-star instead of 5), which is not easily and it is also a little "freaky" when you hear it smack something & crackle.

product is decent and gets the job done...kind of... if you're trying to kill mosquitoes perhaps but seems cheaply made does not kill later bugs such as flies

Not as powerful as others like this I have bought. You have to whole the bug zapper on the bug for a long period of time, but it does work.
