SLEEK.. SOLID.. SUPERB..
This North Bayou™ TV wall mount was one of, what felt like hundreds, I viewed and researched, and I am sure glad I went with this model and manufacturer. I say this for the stylish design, the build quality, and for the over all good value and craftmanship of the final product.I was looking for an affordable solution that would fit my 42” Vizio M-Series flatscreen TV, which I wanted to rest nicely upon the corner of my bedroom. An articulating feature and being able to maneuver the screen to various viewing angles was a key factor I had in mind for my future wall mount. I stand now a happy camper as I know this purchase was the right one for my exact needs.Installation was simple for me, however, I love to assemble items and things of the DYI vibe are fun and come natural for me. With that said, I can definitely envision someone who isn’t as pleasedwith the task of assembling and DYI projects, face difficulties with this project as I believe the instructions weren’t mapped out as clearly as I think they should have been, though all the tools for mounting your TV are basic tools almost everyone would own.*** PRO TIP ***Jump onto YouTube and view the man videos on this very subject. You might be able to even find some videos from the very company you purchase your mount from as I did. Also Google PDF’s as this item had three for my use and direction. The most difficult thing for me was hanging the actual monitor/TV screen upon the arm of the wall mount, as I did this entire project alone with no aide. Which if I may add is totally do-able depending on the size and weight of your screen.Over all I am well pleased with my Amazon purchase and will seek out North Bayou™ for any future mounting needs, and will speak the praises of this item to near and far. Make sure to check out my enclosed photos to see how easy this task is. CHECK IT OUT..

Truly surprised at 40$
The monitor stand I have had for years is very adjustable (height, angle, swivel, orientation) however I've been slowly building a new office with a big built in desk so I was looking at wall mounts to maximize desk space. This arm seemed to have most of what I wanted with most of all orientation. While flipping my monitor into portrait isn't done often, when you're used to having the option you don't want to give it up.On to the product. It was packaged very well; slightly smaller package then I was anticipating, the arm was well protected with polystyrene buns. The various types of mounting hardware came in a long plastic strip like all the other wall mounts I have purchased. The mounting instructions were detailed enough however I mounted mine to a piece of scrap 2x4 to better distribute the weight and used 3.5" deck screws on a stud to make sure it could handle being manipulated. The arm handles my measly 24" 10lb monitor with ease. The tension had to be massively adjusted but it now moves with one finger. The cable management loops seem to be working just fine and can hold a little slack behind the monitor so that you can rotate it without stressing the cables.A little props to HP, their monitor QD mount is VESA spec so I mounted that to the arm and then was able to just drop the monitor on after the arm was mounted; made the install even quicker and easier. As for durability only time will tell; installed Feb2019 will update accordingly. This monitor is at the bottom of the arms spec but an upgrade to ta 27" or 30" will eventually happen and I feel could arm could handle it without a doubt.I would say the only down side to this mount is its very minimal tilt adjustment which requires tools; but at 40$ somethings got to give. For now I'm just obsessed with the floating monitor look and love how much space I have for a shelf under my monitor.

Strong. Difficult to adjust.
The other complaints are mostly accurate, albeit plagued by owners that aren't very industrious. The tension screw is covered up in the "elbow" of the monitor arm because the arm ships fully extended. (Unlike the other units I've had that ship collapsed but spring loaded.) This is to prevent injury. You have to mount the arm to the wall while fully extended, (which can be unruly) and then from there, you can push down on the VESA mount end enough to reveal the tension adjustment screw that is hidden. My primary complaint: The arm is very stiff at the middle joint which allows for horizontal articulation. It shouldn't be that stiff. As other reviewers have mentioned, you really can't fully articulate this arm by grabbing the monitor and moving it about; the joint is much too stiff. The center of the monitor will always be offset from the mounting bracket by a few inches, depending on how you have the "elbow" oriented. this is because the first section of the arm is shorter than the second section. So if you want to reverse that offset from one side to the other, you have to extend the monitor arm all the way out to it's full range and then bend the elbow the opposite direction from whence it came and theclose the arm back upon itself. It gets very tight when the arm is nearly fully extended. it becomes unsafe to pull the arm straight by holding onto the monitor. You may have to reach behind your monitor and grab each section of the monitor arm and bend the middle joint from there. Once it's past a 15 degrees or so you can do fine adjustments by grabbing ahold of and moving around the monitor. It works, but it's annoying. It's not a bad unit by any means. This is the third one I've bought - all different brands and different configurations for weight or whatever. Each of them had their own quirks which separated them from $100 monitor arms, but they all did the job. This one is no different.
