Hand made with care and attention by a small family owned business
I purchased this classic 18.5 inch USA Made Oak Mahlstick for my oil painting art and it is perfect in so many ways. Yes i could make one of my own design, however, the care and craftsmenship that went into the one i purchased is very evident. i feel the aura of goodness while using it, and knowing that it helped this company during hard times of Covid19. Value? Well the little bit of cost is well worth what you get - one could pine together a mahlstick from scrap - but you would not get the nice letter and extra service from these people - so blessed to have it.

It was a gift
This was a gift so I haven't used it, but I know enough about painting tools to form an opinion. There are different deigns for Mahsticks and I think the design of this one is superior. The end would provide enough traction to keep it from sliding.

It Is Helpful When Painting
I will have to order a longer one. I thought this one would have been sufficient, but I need a longer one. It does what it should in helping you to paint an area without touching a wet area.

The wooden part of the stick is solid and it is sturdy. The fabric is a man made product and very slick on any surface which defeats the purpose of the mahlstick. I replaced the fabric with a piece of chamois which works well.

Perfect!
I bought this for my father for his 89th birthday. After he figured out what it was and tried it, he was thrilled! It really helps steady his hand while he paints, especially small details. This was the perfect gift "for the man who already has everything"!
