Should you use this product?
This is the first time that we have used InTheSwim Products. But, this was kind of a nightmare. Most non-chlorine shocks advertise a 15 minute wait period to swim. This would be terrible according to our experience. It has been raining hard and finally let up. Recommendation? Shock. OK. Pool chemicals. Chlorine-2, PH 7.4, Alkalinity 110, CYA 40, Salt 3412, pool temperature 81. ORP at 570 - needs shock. This shock was applied as per directions, we had the pool pump on, returned an hour later and we had white stuff from the shock floating in a river around the pool. The pump was at 50%, turned it up to 90%, quad filter with a small amount of DE like filler. 45 minutes later, scrubbed the pool. White crystals started floating again. We now have our robot vac with a high grade filter in the pool, and may have to run that a couple cycles.Manufacturing problem? I don't know, but certainly something is wrong here. if you are going to use this, PLEASE make sure you scrub the pool afterwards to see if it resurfaces before you put your friends or kids in the pool......

Works great against green algae
Killed the green algae in the pool in less than 12 hrs. My pool was almost totally green and walls almost covered. I added one extra bag than required and brushed the walls and backwashed the next day. Great product!

doesn't dissolve
Bought this Shock treatment late in the season last year cause my normal brand was out of stock and this was also cheaper. Used again this year to start the season and starting having issues with granular whiteish brown material accumulating on the bottom of the pool. Come to figure out it was this shock treatment that was not dissolving even after I would agitate and sweep it around on the bottom of the pool. So I guess you get what you pay for. Switched back to what I was using before (Clorox) and the problem is gone. Of course after I have gotten rid of the other shock treatment remnants.

AWESOME!
I love In The Swim products for my pool! I started using In The Swim products for my pool a couple of years ago and won't go back to the HTH in store products. I haven't had to battle algae since I switched. I use the chlorine 3" pucks that come individually wrapped, put those right in my skimmer basket. Treat once a week with this shock and my pool is crystal clear all the time! The only other thing I treat my pool with is Eclipse 3 once a week. My daughter got her first pool this season and her husband told her to find out what I do to my pool because it's always crystal clear. She treats her pool the exact same way and her's is always crystal clear also. Delivery is always super fast. Don't even think about not buying this shock ... just buy it ... use it ... buy the chlorine and you will be very happy with the results!

DOES NOT DISSOLVE
I have attempted to use this product many times and it is horrible It does not dissolve As you broadcast it across your pool surface according to directions, you can watch it sink to the bottom without dissolving and then you have piles of it on your pool floor. I have even tried to dissolve it in hot water before adding it to my pool and even that doesn’t work DO NOT BUY THIS!!
