When this item arrived it was easy to swap into my handheld vacuum (videos on YouTube), and it worked from the 'off'. However, over time as the battery was approaching recharging, the device was sucking in short pulses. Now less that six months after purchasing it that is how it is all the time. Because it fires in short half-second pulses the suction effect is very weak. I have just ordered a different (and more expensive) brand to replace it.Updated: When I began that replacement, I gave the trigger a test squeeze and it ran OK (??) I then found some paper and other item partially blocking the inlet tube. I remove them, changed the filter and reassembled it - It now works fine.The newly purchased battery is stored as a spare part.

Works great and has given my Dyson a new lease of life and now does my whole house on one charge

Finally got round to installing after purchasing last year. As other reviews state, works for for a few minutes and then runs out of charge. Will buy the official battery shortly to avoid similar disappointment.

Product turned up quickly and was easy to fit into my Dyson. Everything was great, good battery life, etc. but a month after buying it it’s had stopped holding any charge and no longer works. Typically just outside the return window set by Amazon 😡
