Vainglory Skaarf Dragon Plush

I was an avid Vainglory fan for many years. While I no longer play the game due to it’s unfortunate decrepit state, I have acquired the plush form of one of my favorite dragon heroes, Skaarf. He is a nice size, makes for good decor and looks good in my room. He’s accurate to his in-game model which is absolutely perfect. His wings are movable and the tail is massive. Skaarf is now a best friend for anyone to hold, and while this one doesn’t shoot fire balls or spit goo, he’s still perfectly capable of being the cute dragon friend for anyone and everyone.

My kids have grown up playing dungeons and dragons, and have moved on to other games (video as well as card and board) but dragons are still a going theme. While Skaarf isn't my kind of dragoon (being more of a traditionalist) my kids are into anime and he fits right in with their collections.The dragon is large and sturdy, well made, but not as cuddly as most of the stuffed animals around our house (and there are a lot). My kids are older and more interested in collector figures than cuddly animals (other than their pets) but there is always room for 1 more dragon.. Scaarf *is* attractive to our pet, and actually somewhat resembles one of his toys, so I do have to keep an eye on him, tough though he is.. he is no match for something ~ 100 times his weight with bigger fangs ;)This is a well made toy with good detailing, and one which ought to hold up to a lot of play, unless it is a shepherd that's playing with him. I would recommend it for kids over 5, or old enough not to put things in their mouths (because the eyes could be pulled off by an ambitious child). Poseable wired wings also make this figure more suitable for older kids. Though sturdier than the average stuffed animal, this wouldn't last 5 minutes around my dog, who I think could be a tester for preschool toys. Though he looks ready for action, I think Skaarf would be happier on a book shelf than in the hands of a toddler.

I love him! I am a huge fan of SEMC and of the game Vainglory, and have been dying to get one of these since I saw them at live events. The details, the details, the details! This Skaaf plushie is amazing and is definitely worth the buy to the collector or average fan. He is quite large and has pose-able wings. The materials used to make him feel sturdy and he can easily stand on his own. His body is wonderfully detailed with gold accents with his wings being sort of iridescent. I cannot say enough great things about this item. I just hope they make and sell more of the other heroes in Vainglory. Play the game if you haven't! It's a free download! You wont regret it!

So I don't know if this dragon is from a kids show - or a comic, or a video game or what... and neither does the little 3 year old it was for. I know this because he didn't immediately identify it - and as such it is now named "Silly." Silly the dragon is a good size, easy to hold for little hands without being to small for hugging on. There is metal in the wings for easy posing and the tail is actually much longer than it appears in the picture. Silly feels well stitched and I can't get past the feeling that this is probably meant to be more of a collectors item/display piece that years from now we will wish we had locked away with original tags. But 3 year olds can't be kept from dragons, so Silly is off adventuring with Little Man.As far as long term - I expect most of Silly to hold up for quite a while, however I also expect his teeth to be the first to go if he ends up requiring trips through the animal wash.

Gave this as a gift to my youngest son. He loves it.
