Wasn't sure what this would look like in person, but it is even better than I'd hoped! Fantastic design on a good-sized mug featuring famous art through the centuries, including BCE-2000. You won't believe all the artists represented in such a small space. And for those uninformed, a complete list of all the art pictured on the bottom of the mug. (along with the helpful pun, "For best results turn over and use other side.") Says micro and dishwasher safe, but I think I'd recommend hand wash. Perfectly boxed for the artist in your life and one of the best fun yet practical gifts I've given. I'm an art lover who appreciates a good cup of coffee. I like to use amusing/interesting coffee mugs, so when I saw this one, I ordered it. The artwork encircles the entire mug with the exception of the handle space, starting with art from BCE (B.C.) going through 2000. The mug comes in a matching box. I didn't pay attention to the measurements before ordering the mug and was surprised at how large it is. The mug holds approximately 16 oz, which is a fair amount of caffeine. The works of art are actually identified individually on the bottom of the mug. Obviously, the company has a sense of humor, as the information on the bottom of the mug states "For best results, use other side." The mug is microwave and dishwasher safe. Would recommend this mug to use yourself or to give as a gift...I'm doing both.

A fairly hefty mug that you can gift to the art lover/art therapist/art major in your life. Especially when you are extremely hard-pressed to remember which particular artist they love. It is only Western art but it is already a huge mug and I doubt they could have fit any more on. Great job!

Mug is a little pricey, but it's a big coffee mug & the great arts design is pretty cool. Both the mug & design seem to be good quality. This is a must-have for any art lovers. (I'm not a big art fan myself but I just really liked the mug.)

It is rare to see anything so hilarious written on this, or any mug, but if you turn it over, the writing on the bottom of the mug where it explains who and what the pictures are called “A Brief History of Art” explains it all. Under that caption it says: Microwave and dishwasher safe, For Best Results, Use Other Side”. How funny is that? I’m still laughing.......

Like the product, but the quality could have been a little better. There is a sort of a dimple imperfection in the ceramic mug and the print on the mug looks better in the Amazon photo than it does in person. Nonetheless, i think the person I'm gifting it to will love it. Comes in a nice box.

A friend gave my wife this mug many years ago. She is a scenic artist. It was her favorite mug. But a week ago, she tripped on a step in our house and broke the mug. I immediately, unbeknownst to her, ordered a new one and it arrived the next day. She was delighted. Art and humor together...and philosophy.
