Walking hiking shoes
The sizing was great at a good price point for a well known and trusted brand. Very comfortable on first wearing. Early days but they look well built to withstand the riggers of rough ground. .

This is a relatively light weight product, a great fit for me, with accurate half sizing. They offer durable fashion, confidence inspiring grip, and a wear all day comfort. So good I bought them twice!

If you like the Merrell fit, they are great walking shoes
Merrell Moab shoes and boots are an ideal fit for me, this results in them being extremely comfortable, probably the most wearable ‘all day’ footwear I own. The best walking shoes/boots are the ones that fit you correctly, so if the Merrell fit suits you, they may be the only shoes you want to wear. I have had problems with plantar fasciitis for years and Merrell Moab boots have enabled me to continue doing long distance walks without the foot pain taking over. The rule of thumb for Merrell, as mentioned by many others is to go up half a size from your normal size. They tend to be a touch short in length but have a fairly roomy, round toe box, which helps with comfort on long hikes. The insoles are fairly good too, quite thin but they do have a reasonable level of heel stability and arch support. To help with plantar fasciitis I do replace the insoles with some that provide a greater amount of arch support. The GTX waterproof lining works very well, only on extremely wet and muddy hikes have I ever had the slightest amount of water find its way past the gore-tex barrier. Even when the boots are worn well past their best the waterproofing still holds up. Overall the Merrell Moab 3 are robust, very hard wearing, supportive and supremely comfortable. No break in period is required, they do soften and mould to your feet over time, but also feel great straight out of the box.Where’s the catch? For me there is just one thing that lets them down and that is grip. Certain conditions can prove challenging for the Moab 3, the redesigned tread pattern is generally better than that of the Moab 2, but unfortunately they are not at their best on very muddy inclines, snow and to some extent wet rocks. It is quite common to find the grip giving way in these conditions, necessitating a careful choice of route through tricky terrain.I personally accept the limitations in grip for the superior level of comfort, a trade off that may or may not work for everyone.

First impressions
Good fit, quite a wide shoe. Good firm sole with good support of foot and very nice to walk on. Early days, but used for short walks over mostly flat terrain although a variety of surfaces covered with no issues.

Great shoes, but watch sizes.
This is the seventh pair of Merrells I’ve owned and they are all so comfortable. The only thing I have found is you need to go a half size larger than you think you need. I have just ordered my eighth pair 😊

A genuine improvement
The Moab 2 was a really good, practical, shoe - although maybe not the most comfortable after a long day of walking. The Moab 3 retains all of the practicality, but with a real improvement to the level of comfort. There is far more to this than just a cosmetic upgrade - it now is without doubt the best value walking shoe on the market.

Very good value
Shoes are very lightweight and extremely comfortable from the start. Plenty of padding and arch support. Feels like you can walk miles in them without knowing you’ve got them on. Plenty of grip

almost perfect (if it's dry)
very comfortable and nice looking.they're even good for a quick run too if you have excess energy on your hike!my only issue is that there are 2 "wings" on the tongue which are quite uncomfortable if not positioned perfectlyUPDATE: note that these are not in any way waterproof - just returned from a walk in heavy rain and my feet were soaked through after about 15 minutes even though I didn't step in any puddles!

Been a fan for over a decade
Love these. Gortex lining puts them to the next level. Color (brown) is a bit different from previous years/model. Comfortable. Good footing.

Great hiking shoes
I had been buying another brand shoe that looked and fit good but fell apart after about 9 - 10 months. These shoes fit even better and seem better made. I hope to get at least a years worth of use out of them.
