Allergy relief the natural way
TO START WITH: I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw an ad for these AllerPops... I have bad seasonal pollen allergies - especially Juniper, Cottonwood, Chamisa and ragweed. I bought these and decided to give them a chance because I was tired of taking a medication everyday.THIS ISN'T POPPING ALLERGY PILLS.This is a really amazing way to get rid of allergies long term (they say for the season etc). It takes a little bit more time then just grabbing a pill and swallowing - you need to go through their routine of brushing teeth, wiping tongue, rinsing with hot/warm water, then let the AllerPop dissolve in your mouth for 1 hour. It's NOT hard, but you need to do this correctly for it to work. When you do this correctly, the pops don't just get rid of your allergies for a day, but a season. I didn't have an issue with the timing. Plus you're only suppose to do this every other day, so you can do on the days you're able to.I recommend following the instructions really well when using them - you're suppose to remove the "bio-film" on the tongue, so don't skip the steps or the product might not work. I used a hot washcloth when wiping my tongue - not a soft one or paper towel, but one that would actually remove the bio film (scratchy). The "set up" process of getting your mouth ready, only takes about 7 mins. So, it's not an issue - then I would keep the pop in my mouth while doing chores, working at the computer, or other activities. It's super easy! My dad remarked that he did it while he was gardening :) The taste is pretty good too - it doesn't taste artificial either which is a plus! It has a more natural taste to it.I started in late Winter - early Spring and noticed a change within two AllerPops. After two times my sinuses were much better and I wasn't sneezing anymore. I told my dad, who also has horrible allergies and he tried a couple of mine and then bought his own box of them. So far they are working great! I have only used 4 of these so far and didn't feel like I needed to use more yet - but I have a bunch left over for when I need more relief! My allergies seem to be worse during Juniper season and then end of Summer (ragweed blooms), so I will be happy to keep some on hand if the need arises.I'm really glad to have found a natural way to help alleviate my allergies. Before the pops, I was taking Benedryl every night and something else during the day - now I'm not taking anything. Before these I had considered getting the allergy therapy shots - which are super expensive and I'm not a fan of needles. At first I wasn't sure about these due to the price, but the price is NOTHING compared to how much money you'll save on medication and other techniques.

Effective?
Instructions for use of this product are much more complex than simply removing the wrapper and allowing the pop to dissolve in your mouth. The recommended prep involves specific brushing, wet cloth scrubbing, and gargling (an ordeal). I followed the extensive instructions for the first pop, but changed to simple toothpaste-less brushing for subsequent pops. Keep this in mind in viewing my results. After 3 or 4 days (pops) I did notice improvement in allergy symptoms. After about 8 to10 days, I reached maximum benefit- meaning a significant lessening of sneezing, itchy eyes and congestion. However, I am not certain the improvement was due to the pops, or simply decrease in local allergens. I will plan on trying again during the fall allergy season and see if the effect/correlation holds true then.

Disappointed that they changed the formula as it no longer works!
I found this product at the NM state fair a few of years back and tried it. It worked amazingly so I used it for several years until 2022 they changed the pops to lozenges(which made sense since I would just break the lollipop stuck off and use it as a lozenge anyway) but they must have changed the recipe also because the product no longer worked for me. I even tried using the prior instructions of wiping the tongue, etc., as they changed the instructions too. Also the lozenge was now softer and more jelly like and takes longer to dissolve. All the change would have been fine if it did not alter the effectiveness but so disappointing. Please change your formula back!!

It works!!
It works so well especially paired with the allertoothpaste. My nose congestion is decreasing. Follow the instructions and no tongue scraping and no mouth wash. Will continue to buy for future use.

Tastes good, but didn't work for me at all
I did lots of research on this product beforehand, studying feedback from users and the science behind it and its supposed efficacy. By the end, I confidently believed the theory it is based off of. It just makes so much sense. So I really wanted this to work and hoped it would. Unfortunately, in my case it didn't help at all, and if anything, it seemed to make my allergies even worse. Either I used the pops incorrectly, or each person may handle it differently. Admittedly, it's also pretty hard to assess how effective they're being, due to the law of unprovable unknowns. (You'll never be able to tell whether something is working right if its intended effect is the absence of something; you can only tell if it isn't working, by having that thing still happen.)Initially, over the first few days, my sneezing and runny nose got noticeably worse, as it seemed to become more sensitive as the bacteria began to build up without being balanced by the body yet. After the third pop, it seemed to be working, as I went a number of days without any sneezing or runny nose. But then by the 5th pop, I ended up having crazy sneezing fits and endless runny noses, to degrees worse than I've ever had in the past. The pops seemingly made them worse! It was certainly doing stuff to my nose, but not what I intended. I hoped this reaction was an expected temporary flare-up that is part of the process as your body acclimates to the presence of the new bacteria. But by the 6th pop, I was still getting runny noses and sneezing, though it died down to normal levels, how it's been before I began taking these pops, and has been like that ever since. I tried 2 more pops some days afterwards, but there was no difference; it might've been too late at that point. So in the end, I seem to have ended up with no perceivable benefit. It was a waste of time, effort, and money for me, with nothing to show for it but a lot of sugar consumed at the worst possible window of time to ever be consuming sugar.I tried following the suggested regimen I found after my extensive research. Which is simply to first brush your teeth as normal, then suck on one until it dissolves. Done once every other night for 6 nights (that leaves you with 2 doses in the box). Note I don't rinse after brushing, so that the fluoride can actually get a chance at working away on your teeth. (Rinsing after brushing is something you really don't have to do ever, and it's actually better not to - one of the many confusing, counter-intuitive, counter-productive practices we have as a society.) Maybe it's possible the concentrated presence of fluoride left in my mouth before I put in the pop counteracts a lot of what the pop is trying to do, and maybe it would have gotten to work if I kept at it for more than 6 times, such as using up all 12. So maybe you'll have better luck if you are in fact rinsing after brushing, or plan on consuming them all. I saw conflicting info about cleaning your tongue beforehand, so I opted not to do that since I don't do that normally anyway. The pops themselves actually taste pretty good - which isn't too surprising, since they're apparently loaded with sugar (6 grams each!). I understand it's probably used to make them palatable, but there's so much in here, it's not only not good for you, it simply leaves you with a lot of sugar in your mouth overnight. I was never able to get over the uneasiness of using one of these right before I go to sleep, letting all that sugar sit in my mouth, going after my teeth without the activated saliva acidity to counteract it (since your saliva deliberately isn't as potent while you're sleeping). I would have rather had tasteless or bitter pops than delicious ones, if it means I'm not destroying my teeth or contributing to eating poorly. To help counteract any potential lingering sugar, I tried to take one at least half an hour before I actually went to bed.The pops are rectangular with proper edges, basically like hard, mini bricks. Each comes individually wrapped, in a box sized just right for housing them all. I can't help it, but after a few minutes of truly trying hard not to, I end up chewing on it instead of only sucking on it. Supposedly chewing on it is a bad thing that negatively affects its efficacy, but I could not avoid the psychophysiological reaction and force of habit. Due to the sugar or whatever else ingredients, it's a little bit sticky when chewed on, and it's not 100% firm, having a little bit of give when chewed on, which keeps it safe enough and pleasant enough to chew on. When chewing along with letting it sit, the whole pop dissolves in around 20 minutes. After that, there's some minutes of dealing with the residue of the pop that got stuck onto my teeth after chewing on them.Stupidly, the pop uses a paper handle instead of a plastic one, causing the pop to stick to the paper when you get to the end of it. Worse, if you contact the paper for too long against your saliva, the paper will dissolve faster than the pop, so you end up having some paper in your mouth while trying to consume the pop, which is never pleasant. A product like this, which has to sit in your mouth for an extended period of time all while exposed to a ton of your saliva, should have been put on a plastic stick instead of a paper one. The experience would be so much better, and you wouldn't struggle on getting the last bits of the pop dissolved.Overall, while this is a great idea in theory, it remains just that, with inconclusive results and an execution that can use some improvements. Its price is also a bit unreasonable, given what it's made of. Either way, if you're feeling genetically lucky and believe in the theory like I still do, then give it a shot. Outside of all the sugar and what that may do to your teeth, it won't hurt to try it. If it works, it will have been totally worth it, but if not, you're no worse off than before you started with it. Just try not to chew it and don't eat it right before lying down, so that the sugar can first get counteracted a bit.
