I did my homework before i purchased these coasters. I was looking for something that looks good and is absorbent. I didn't want coasters where you wind up with a puddle of water on top. These did not disappoint. They look great and they absorb condensation without allowing water to puddle on top.

Esthetically, these coasters are really nice. However, I specifically ordered them for their absorbant quality (I like iced drinks in the summer which makes for drippy glasses). I had some years ago that were very effective (same brand name so I'm not sure if the quality has gone down or if there's variation between their offerings)These absorb very little - thus leaving me with a trail of water drips across my desk - not great.

I received these several days earlier than expected and they are definitely absorbent and will do the job well to protect my new furniture! They are heavy 3/8" thick stone with a cork backing to not mar furniture when used.The reason for not being 5 stars is because I can't just take off a 1/2 star. My only disappointment is minor really and purely aesthetic, but the map design is more muted and not as vibrant as pictured plus it is approximately 1/8" smaller in diameter than the coaster itself and is not centered very well on the coaster. I know it's OCD of me, but it's like a minor itch that I can't reach...it just bugs me. Not nearly enough to return these since they do the job very well and are exactly what I need.

I ordered these because they had such great reviews. The previous reviewers were right about how nice they are BUT the packaging mine came in was rediculous! They are heavy because they are stone and come in a pack of 4. They are STONE which can break. My pack of coasters came in a yellow envelope with the bubble packaging inside. NOT enough to keep the product safe from being broken on its way to the costumer. I live overseas in Japan because my husband is military so it was nice how quick they got to me, but the top coster was broken due to the poor packaging! Will I return them? No, because I don't want to wait any longer when I need them NOW before my family ruins my nice coffee table. I super-glued it back together in hopes that it will stay together. AMAZON, Please! Ship these in better packaging so that they don't break on its way to your customers!

Excellent product and service by this vendor (Wayfair). This is my third set of Thirstystone coasters over the past couple of decades, and the only reason I've had to buy more is because they don't wear out and I like to change things up now and then. They're obviously durable, but more importantly they absorb condensation better than any other coaster I've ever used. In fact, I bought a similarly named product recently because I liked the design, and literally pools of water were left sitting atop the coaster every time I drank an iced beverage. Of course, that water then splattered all over my furniture whenever I picked up the glass, which sort of defeats the purpose of using a coaster in the first place. Living in an environment with high humidity, I can assure you I've never had this problem with Thirstystone. An added plus was that my order arrived on time, neatly and carefully packaged. I can't say enough good things about this product and experience!

I've recently had some bad experiences with Thirstystone, having ordered three different sets of coasters on the same day. The first two sets (both of which I reviewed) were terrible products. But, to be fair to Thirstystone, these One World coasters - while also a bit faded - actually look pretty darn good. They're absorbent, heavy, and the map is readable-enough to be interesting. So, just judging this set on its own merits, I'd have to say that these are pretty cool. Im using these as my primary coasters now, with the other two having been donated this morning to Goodwill.I took some pics to try and help anyone thinking of picking up a set. I have two of the Thirstystone holders, so I took a couple of pics with those as well, just in case you're wondering what these look like with some of the available holders... I hope the pics help!

My husband and I have been incredible impressed with these coasters. I purchased them because we love old maps and they would go nicely with our living room theme colors (black, red and beige). Little did I realize that we would be receiving such a quality product!I've never owned Thirstysone coasters before and I wish we would have found them sooner. They're true to their name; not once have I seen a single drop of condensation on them! They protect our coffee table from moisture and scratches (there's cork on the bottom of each coaster).Furthermore, they add a unique flare to our living room decor. We've received several compliment from guests. I highly recommended this brand an product.

Good looking.. Better than wood or cork.. these dont stain. Just WAY overpriced!
