10X Handheld Magnifier, Reading Magnifier Loupe Glasses 10X with Rosewood Handle for Book and Newspaper Reading, Insect and Hobby Observation, Classroom Science (Metal Frame)

This is a really nice, slightly heavy, but quality piece. Appears to be real glass lens. Metal frame with real wood handle. Magnification is strong enough for my poor eye sight. Lens is close to 2-3/4" in diameter. Really like this one and would buy again if needed. Comes with a cleaning small (aprox 4" square) cleaning cloth. Only thing I would change is to make the handle a little longer. Handle is 3" from base of lens frame to end of screw on cap that holds the wood in place.

This is a 2-3/4" diameter glass 10x magnifier (calculated it), to get the maximum magnification try moving both the object AND magnifier "away" from your eye, while adjusting the distance of the magnifier from your eye, it makes a really big difference in magnification (magnifier 7" from object with eye 22" from object gives maximum magnification). I have a 1" diameter 10x loupe, and with that I have to have the loupe close to the object and my eye close to the loupe (loupe 1" from object with eye 5" from object for max. magnification), so very different distances for magnifying because of the different focal length of the 1" diameter loupe versus this larger 2-3/4" diameter magnifier. Of course, you do not need to have your eye 22" from object using this magnifier, it just increases the magnification if you do.

Small but solid construction. It has a high gloss finish to the metal. It is surprisingly heavy for the size. It works for reading small print.

I bought this magnifying glass to use, but also to look great sitting next to a globe I got for my office -- which it does. I've pulled out this visual tool multiple times and for lots of other reasons too, though, from coupons to reading fine print in grey printed on the back of a black electronics device to yellow print on an orange background on convenience food packages. I'm so glad I invested in this, my review's "headline" says it all: Beautiful, hefty, functional.

I read different reviews before buying this and am impressed. It IS 10 times magnification as advertised. It is well made, beautiful, functional and a bargain. I don’t understand why anyone would give it a bad review or for that matter leave a poor review because the delivery service damaged it. I am ordering two more of these after I finish this review.I really wish people would not waste time giving a poor review that is unrelated to the item.

I read a large number of reviews abt this rosewood handled 10x magnifyer before buying. I agree it doesn't seem to be that much magnification. What is more frustrating/annoying to me is the blur outside looking dead center. I believe this may be in part to beveling from dead center outward. I would return it due to the blur effect but postage isn't worth it.I purchased this magnifier to replace a very cheap (price) plastic one. It was the smaller glass of a 2-piece set that I paid $1-2 for. The new one's magnification is no greater than old one (with a glass that is a little over an inch). Also th clarity is about the same except I don't have to look only dead center.I primarily wanted to use it to read small print without squinting. Constantly keeping what I'm reading dead center is disconcerting.I was influenced by reviews written by those needing this small-print reading assistance BUT I don't recall anyone mentioning this clarity issue.

Bought this for my stamp collection. The magnifying glass comes very nicely designed. Great quality wood and glass. Not some cheap plastic. Love it. The zoom is great.
