The magnet is super strong, which is awesome to hold more weight. I was hoping to not have to use the screws on my new car to mount it and just use the tape but the tape doesnt hold as strong as the magnet. After mounting with just the tape, when the pistol was close enough to grab the magnet, the magnet jumped off from under my dash straight to my gun. In laughter of how strong this magnet is, i will have to try some stronger tape before i drill holes in my new car.

In Texas if used in your vehicle, the fasteners are definitely needed in addition to the 3M tape.

I needed to mount an FNX-45 on the side of an easy chair in TV room. Installation was a breeze and I like the height of the magnets away from the mounting surface, but as some have said, the magnets are not super strong. I placed the gun on the magnets, contacting on the side of the slide. I admit, it's a heavy gun loaded with 15 rnds of 230gr ammo.But as I would put the gun on the magnets it would slowly slide down by gravity. It would eventually stop, but it didn't feel "strongly" mounted to the magnet. I fear if I plop into the easy chair, the jolt might cause my gun slide completely off the mount onto the floor. I was hoping to use the extra mount for a spare magazine, but ended up using it, inline, with the other magnet mount. Now, the slide of the gun is in contact with two magnetic mounts and it is on there pretty strong!I feel confident it isn't going to fall off now, but I will have to purchase more of these units now, to mount my spare magazine.I would not consider using these mounts in a bouncing vehicle with my particular gun, especially if the gun was in a "hanging"position. At smaller, lighter gun, however, would probably not be a problem in a car.

As stated this magnet is perfect. Super strong. Hold every gun. A single magnet can hold my AR-15 by the barrel. (I have not mounted the magnet so I cannot rate the 3M tape nor the screws that come with it)HOWEVER...there are some reviews about the low quality of the magnet. IT IS NOT THE MAGNET. It is your gun. The strength of the hold is going to depend on the material of the gun.I have a M&P9 2.0. This magnet holds the gun perfectly but only by the slide. Trying to put the magnet else where does not work. This isn't a problem with the magnet; it's a problem with the gun.I have a M&P 15. This magnet hold the gun perfectly...but only by the barrel. There is no where else I can put the magnet do the material the rifle is made of. Again, this isn't a problem with the magnet.All in all, this product is amazing. The magnet is super strong. I probably wouldn't trust the 3M tape to hold the magnet when you take off the gun. The magnet seems too strong.. I plan on mounting with screws anyway (will update if the screws aren't up to par)Would definitely buy this product knowing what I know now. Would recommend.

Purchased to hold a small .380 and it works perfectly. Tried to use adhesive but finally just used included screws to secure to vehicle interior. Have had no issues.

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on this type of product, and finally did when I received an Amazon gift card. It was ridiculously easy to install. Small side note: I suggest using the two sided adhesive AS WELL as the screws to ensure it's reinforced. I'm really happy with these holster mounts with one minor issue. One of the mounts doesn't have the rubber completely wrapped around the metal and I can't get it where it needs to be. They hold all of my pistols with no problems. I'm planning on ordering another set to install in my wife's car for when I'm driving it.

These seem to be made very sturdy. The secure all of my pistols where I want them. One of my pistols has a rounded top so securing from the top didn’t work out. That being said it was at no fault of the holster.

Magnets were delivered just as shown in a nice box with some small drywall screws. If used for a handgun then they are absolutely perfect. For rifles or shotguns, the have some challenges. Pro: They were designed raised up so that they protrude away from the wall most likely so that they could attached to rifles with different attachments. Con: Due to the varying weights, unfortunately one magnet was not strong enough to hold my my Rem 870 shotgun with a standard barrel that weighed less than 17 lbs. as it tended to slide on the magnets or spin. . I had to orientate it so that something was stopping it from sliding. If used in conjunction with a small bracket below the rifle preventing it from sliding down, it would probably work great. I will wait til I get the smaller barrel for my Rem 870 which will lighten it a little and give it a better center of balance. I will update.Also, these will not work on all guns especially Polymer bodied guns. Would not work on my CZ 805 Bren Pistol or my CZ Scorpion carbine which I use for home defense. That's a bummer seeing that was why I bought them. I will give them a 3 because there are magnets and could most likely hold the described weight like a dumbbell but not necessarily on longer guns with varying weights and certainly not on Polymer bodied guns..I will update when I try them on some other rifles.

Magnetic strength is excellent, the build quality is very good and came well packaged and complete. This product must be screwed or bolted to a surface. Magnet only on tall side. This not a "bad" thing, it simply is a feature of this design. Great if you want to mount to wood surface. I used #8 bolts in my gun cabinet to mount them under a steel shelf so the pistols simply hang down from the magnets. The acorn nut I used on the above shelf was cut into the hard sponge mats I use on every shelf.

Good product for holding a rifle/shotgun leaning standing against a wall.Plus you get 2 of them so you can try different positions.Easily supports a hand gun to if legal in your state.

Finally got around to installing this. Does the job. Holds a 12 guage just fine

Seems like a good product, would not hold my airsoft pistol though but not the products fault. Probably more aluminum than steel in my gun.
