We have adopted a number of feral cats over the years. Many of them came around and we can pet/pick up/etc, but some we can't even touch. When it comes time to take them to the vet, this pole is nothing short of miraculous. Previously, taking our cats to the vet would result in me being scratched to hell and exhausted. This thing makes short work of the experience.When the cat is hunkering down (pissed and afraid, alas), you loop this around his neck and *gently* pull it tight to the point where he can't get his head out but you're not choking him. Then it's simply a matter of leverage. You can use this poll to make the cat go wherever you want to go. For instance, I'll push the poor fella into his carrier head first, release the noose, and pull the pole out and close the carrier behind it. There isn't enough room for him to get out. Works like a charm and saves us so much pain, frustration, and aggravation.Just be careful not to pull the noose too tightly. It's absolutely possible to coke your animal with it, so you need to use a lot of caution. But used carefully and correctly, it's a life-saver. (Sometimes literally when it comes to taking a sick cat to the vet.)

Solid construction, easy to use, I did add a pull handle made it a lot safer to use. It’s actually just a replacement pull handle for a lawnmower. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because of not having a handle but besides that it has worked perfectly.

I bought it and few weeks later I had to use it. I was able to get a hold of an unstable dog and safely moved it to a safe location. No harm to the animal, no harm to me. Now I’m ordering a second one for as a gift to a friend. Product is good quality and very well made.
