Incubus of Bourbon Street (The Jade Calhoun Series Book 6)

The Jade Calhoun series is one of my favorites! She always has some crazy situation going on, and Deanna Chase always makes sure it is exciting. This series is constantly evolving, and that is one of the things I love most about it. It's great to see Jade and Kane again. It is obvious they are very connected in this book. One could not live without the other. This book had a lot of action in it. The fighting was more intense than what I remember from the other books. It seemed like the witches, demon hunters, and the bad guys (I don't want to give anything away) all brought their big guns to these fights. I can't wait to see what else happens with Pyper and Kane after this book! I think things are going to get very interesting with Chessa too! The more I learn about these characters, their lives, and this world, the more I love it! It has grown so much since book one, and I think everyone should check it out.

The sixth of the Jade Calhoun novels is great. Jade and Kane are spending the beginning of their marriage walking between the shadows with Jade answering the the Angel's Council and Kane under the Brotherhood but is not offered the full respect of that position. Neither role is great for this awesome duo but they have no choice. When something that feels of Kane is walking the Shadows and trying to destroy angels, the team must battle a being that is to come after them too. With only the support of friends on her witches council, Jade and Kane aren't sure if they have enough power to battle the evil they face, clear Kane's reputation, and protect their human friends from being destroyed. Note as the title hints, there is quite bit more sex in Incubus of Bourbon Street than in the earlier novels of the series.

There are still some glitches I don't like in the witchcraft but this tort is so much improved. I love the fact that Pyper now has her connection to all of this and it was well spun how she got there. I have to admit I was expecting the plot to go one way when it went another completely. The laughter is there of course but the story line is getting deeper and more focused.We meet Kane's ancestor and we see Jane fighting a goddess and how she is growing into her power. We even see her having to deal with being spelled for her own good. It's also nice to see the 2 covens slowly being able to work together. I'm truly looking forward to where the end plot twist will take us.

This is the sixth novel in the series and the second in this story arc. This novel contains sex, a lot of it actually. Not enough to cross over into erotica, but still much more than any of the previous novels. I suppose with Incubus being in the title I should not have been surprised. The paranormal story of fixing another dimension, fighting the second highest demon and a lower level Goddess is great. The problem is the story is constantly broken up by sex. I kept having flashbacks to the change over in the Anita Blake novels. I really hope this author does nor go the same way.Still it was a good read in a great series and I have high hopes for the new novel being released in June.

Very few authors can write a convincing relationship, especially one where both parties are supportive of each other and give their partner the room to grow.It seems that once the main characters get together, the authors lose interest in them. Granted, Jade and Kane have just gotten married, but getting dragged out of their wedding reception to save angels is a great twist! As Jade and Kane both grow into their powers and I find the power plays, very interesting. Especially, how now that Kane is an incubus, Jade literally has to balance how much energy she can give him without literally losing herself. Lessons we should all learn. I also love how Jade is strong and loyal to her friends without getting too sappy or too unbelievable. Plus, her friends are hilarious! Great read, great series and seeming to get better with age, just like New Orleans.

This series just keeps you cheering them on in their adventures that take them to different places and through the veil. Jade does not lead a boring life, since she's come to NOLA she's been a magnet for the unsavory things that lurk. Love her and her coven and friends, they definitely keep us entertained. I will be getting started on Piper`s adventures also, can only imagine where she will take us. Great Job!!!

No where else can a series pull me and not let me go until the very end like the Jade Calhoun series. This unlikely heroine, who happens to be a kick a#! heroine with sexier than life incubus demon hunter husband faces an adventure full of death defying twists that includes a very ancient, powerful demon with an unsuspecting connection. This fast paced journey does not allow you to catch your breath as it takes you literally to hell and back. I loved reading it and I am hungry for so much more!

This was the best book of the series so far.A lot of intrigue and action. Jade and Lane battle goddesses and demons. Temporarily lose their friends. You have to read it.

Enjoyed this book as much as the rest will carry on reading these books can't wait to see what happens next

where they had more nuanced emotional back story this at times fall in to a sort of "gung-ho" motivation that is too facile. ,Still worth it for good plot lines and likeable characters, but not up to previous standard in regard to charahter depth/development..
