Grandson LOVES!
This is a very simple story that my 6 year old grandson can relate to. I don't get the reviews that angrily talk about the little frog being disrespectful and teaching bad things to small children. He sounds like a normal child who doesn't grasp reality from an adults view, but in the end does. Much like Green Eggs and Ham. My grandson adores the young frog. I get the humor the authors are going for and read the story intoning the dry humor they intended. I've read the Frog books so many times my grandson does the voice of the little Frog with great delight, and perfectly. I couldn't be happier.

My kids (3 yrs and 8 yrs) really enjoyed this book (yup, even the older one). My favorite line? (particularly the last part of it): "If I grow big, I'll miss the legroom. Or hit my head on things. And do elephants win at hide-and-seek?"Little frog acts out like many little kids do and kids will recognize themselves in the story, and have fun reading it. Don't expect a classical story though; it's a book with modern humor like Mo Willem's 'Don't let the pigeon drive the bus'. If you or your kids like that sort of books, then I'd definitely recommend this book.

I regret buying this one
I got this because I already have I Don't Want To Be a Frog and it was alright, but this one doesn't have much that's redeeming about it (other than the artwork is kind of interesting). I thought the book was going to charmingly list advantages of being small, but the gist is that the main character frog kid is just really contrary and doesn't want to eat his dinner, to which the father frog says he has to so that he can grow up big, and so frog kid lists a bunch of negatives about being big in a long convoluted way to rationalize his way out of eating dinner. At the end, he says okay, but that he doesn't want to take a bath. In sum, there's a lot this frog doesn't want. You want to know what I don't want? To hear my 4-year-old echo that she doesn't want to eat her dinner or take her bath-- I get enough of that without the aid of a book to bolster those two particular sentiments. ...I had to go back and re-read the other reviews because I couldn't believe what a regretful choice this book ended up being for me. I am in utter disbelief at the 5-star reviews!

If your kids loved "I Don't Want to be a Frog
If your kids loved "I Don't Want to be a Frog," they will love this story too. Dev Petty's words and Mike Boldt's illustrations continue to dazzle and amuse. I hope little frog stays small, feisty and charmingly clueless for at least a few more books in this series! The tale of the tape is that this tale stands tall. Highly recommended.

This is gold
The 6 year old loves it, reads it again and again. "Don't wake the tiger" was his old favorite, now it's this one and the "Sleep" book from the same series.

Loved, I don't wanna be a frog. This sequel left us wanting...but still cute. Lovely pictures.
