Sturdy, beautifully imperfect and lightweight.
Okay even though this particular came I received and not have the nice big ball on the top it does have a significant hand grip where the root is supposed to be. It is precisely the right length that I need, has some nice gnarl from the branch trim on it I do kind of wish they would leave a little bit of the branch trimming on there, maybe a 1/8 in or up to a quarter inch just to give it a little character and texture along the shaft. But all in all I cannot complain. It is 100% natural, nice and light, feel sturdy. I'm 6 ft 220 and I have leaned on this just to see how much it would bend and it hardly bends at all. Definitely a very good purchase. Especially when you consider that these are not reproductions but 100% natural so each one is going to be individual unto itself and yes completely different Comma plus the perfectly imperfect Perfection On the shaft. As far as length it is actually 37.25 in length and I think part of that .25 in is going to be from the rubber pad on the bottom. With proper use this walking Aid will help definitely with some balance and with a little practice self-defense if ever needed. The only thing I might do since this is definitely a keeper, is sand off the remaining bark or at least rough it up really good and repaint the shaft a high gloss black or possibly even go mahogany stain in color.

Inspiring work of functional art
I'm pretty new to needing a cane, so I was reluctant at first to make the decision as to which cane to use. I finally chose this one and waited for delivery. The box was a little larger than expected so I quickly tore open the box. I was amazed. Was I looking at my cane I ordered, or a work of art the natural colors, the gentle curve to the root ball which is the handle. I am extre.mely happy with the estetics and strength. The product is beautiful

A bit more curvy and twisted than I expected but it is a great cane
This is a great buy for the money. Of course since this cane is made out of real branches every cane will be different but the finish and the quality of the hardwood is excellent. It was a little thicker at the thinnest end at about one inch than I expected. The only downside of this cane and the reason why I didn't give five stars was it was a little too curvy and twisted for me out of the box. I have a feeling that a lot of other folk would be fine with the curves thinking it just adds character. But I like a straighter stick.I steamed the cane and straightened out on my own. The steam only caused some slight damage to the finish which I don't mind. It now just looks like I've used it for years. If you don't have a steaming setup at home, you could just as easily use a heat gun to straighten out your own cane.

Very nice cane at a good price - good purchase
Really like the knob on the end. Fits my palm perfectly. It's quite like the picture in the product listing (that's a surprise, given that no two canes are alike). Couple natural imperfections in the wood just add to the appeal. It's 3- or 4-inches too long, but I knew that when I ordered it. Will trim the end. Note that the shaft of this cane is quite thick - maybe almost an inch in diameter. I cannot imagine it being any less than indestructible! NOTE: shortened the cane using a hacksaw. Did not want to sand the tip area so I bought 1 1/8" tips that fits very snugly.

Perfectly imperfect
The packaging was like it was gift wrapped. It arrived quickly. It’s solid and really nice. Smooth finish. Not over polished, just enough. My only afterthought hit me when I walked though the house with it and caught my dogs reaction. I’m gonna have to keep and eye on her.

Was this an apparition
I would have given it five stars if just a little more care was taken in finishing it. The shellac was not evenly applied (some areas had no finish applied) and the rough edges of the bark was not sanded to fade to the wood so the bark began to flack off. I used some sand paper to prep the cane for another coat of shellac. This was my fifth cane that I have purchased from Brazos and I didn't have these issues with any of the other canes or walking sticks.

Unique, each one custom made, durable, functional cane.
I use this cane on a daily basis (bad knees) and I really like it. Very high quality, each one custom made based on the shape of the wood. The 'ball root handle' fits well in the hand. A useful, functional, work of art. AND made in the USA.

Root ball cane from Brazos
I was kind of disappointed, the shaft was heavier than expected based on the photos in the ad. I thought it would be more like the one I fashioned out of buckthorn. I was looking for a light colored hardwood but not so thick. My buckthorn on the right is more like the pic in the ad.
