Waited a long time to receive, unable to adjust, glass covering the thermometer broke easily.

I really like this thermometer, nice big dial you can see, seems accurate, (although I really don't have anything to check it against) and its well-made. AAA+++

The product that came with our Sauna was a disaster as it would stick at a temperature until you tapped the glass. The Fischer unit is smooth and appears to be very accurate as it moves up the dial there is never any sticking point and the heat goes accurately from a room temp of 68 degrees to between 160 to 170 degrees.

I really wanted to love this thermometer. It is a beautiful scientific instrument and, I suspect, very accurate. The problem is that it is extremely slow to respond to changes in temperature. It takes about 12 minutes to change by 10 degrees. My sauna oscillates between about 170 and 190 as the thermostat turns on and off. A complete cycle takes about 20 minutes. Because of this, the thermometer never reads above 180 degrees, even though the actual temp (as measured by a digital thermometer) is 192. And it doesn't fall below 175 even if the actual temp is 168. So, it is basically a very expensive average temperature meter.
