I so wanted to LOVE this clock and expected to based on description and photo of product. However, the clock I received was not even close to to either. First, mine measured under 10" vs the 12' in description. I understand this is a handmade product, but a 2" difference makes this a very small clock that doesn't work in attended space. I would have still used the clock despite size difference if it looked like photo. But the wooden, thin, pieces that radiate from the clock do not look ANYTHING like the photo. First off, there is only one layer of these slats - about 1/3 the number of wooden slats than shown in the photo. They also do not swirl and bend and overlap like shown in the photo. In short, there is no dimension or depth or art work to the clock I received. When I received the box, I knew something was going to be off because the package was incredibly light. An item described as made of "wood" is expected to have some substance and weight to it. This reminded me very much of a school wood working project or something built very quickly as part of an assembly line. Perhaps I just received a piece that the artist built on a bad day. At $109 bucks, I'll look for an antique observatory clock at an online auction for a funky showpiece which is what I was searching for when I ordered this item. Photos attached.

Absolutely stunning.
This clock just arrived and I knew before I removed it from the box that it was just gorgeous. I had had some reservations about the color - would they go with the other shades of blue in the room? Blues are notoriously difficult to match, but this piece just lights up the room. It is only slightly under 12” across, but I knew that the larger version would not work in the intended space. I have it on a bedroom wall that is small to begin with, plus the doors to the master bath swing open to obscure a part of that wall. The doors are typically closed, but I wanted something that could be hung so as not to be covered when the doors are open. There is no crossover between the curved “rays” of the design. The artist has created a tromp l’oeil effect that makes it seem as though the rays cross and are applied in layers. Part off this comes from the genius of painting the sides of each ray black so the piece looks quite “dimensional”.The clock is feather light. It gives the feeling that it is delicate (I wouldn’t recommend dropping it), but it’s quite easy to hang, and it operates silently. The second hand does not “tick” but moves smoothly across the clock face.I have a disability so I spend more time in bed than most. I will now be spending part of that time marveling at my beautiful new artwork which, as a bonus, also tells time!
