14k Real Yellow Gold Replacement Lobster Catch Lock Small Size 8.5 mm DIY

The clasp on a necklace I wore every day broke and I purchased this one to replace it. I took it to a jeweler to replace the clasp and they said it was a durable, quality replacement. I rarely take the necklace off, but when I do, it is easy to open and close making the process easy.

Just what I needed

Bought this as a replacement for a broken clasp on my baby boys bracelet, was super easy to install myself, its stamped so i know its real gold and don't have to worry about it tarnishing. Save your money and time from going to a jeweler, all you need is needle nose pliers, patience and good sight since it's small. Just open the ring on the old one with pliers and a bit of pressure and take off, install is reverse. Open the new one and close it, voila! So far it's holding up been 2 weeks, my son is 1 so he's grabbing and playing with a ton of stuff and still has it on. I now prefer lobster claw over clasp 5/5

I ordered from RitaStephens because their item description stated 14k solid gold and hypoallergenic and nickel free which is fine, however in my experience with gold jewelry, and I have extensive knowledge and years of hands-on experience with 10k,14k,18k and 24k gold, be it yellow, white, rose or whatever color it may be, you get the different colors by the metals you alloy your gold with, silver, copper, platinum, rhodium etc. I do know that jewelers never alloy gold with cheap magnetic metal like whatever was alloyed in the clasp that I purchased from [email protected]. I guarantee that if you do an acid test on these cheap 585 stamped clasp's "which is supposed to stand for 14k in Europe" that they will turn green or the scratch on the stone will dissolve. I am very disappointed because now I have to return it and in order to do that, I have to drive to the nearest UPS store which is over 30 miles away in a different town. I write this review in hopes that it will help anyone who is not gold savvy. Do your due diligence, especially when ordering online and don't be afraid to test any and all precious metals that you purchase, online or off. 14k Gold is not MAGNETIC!

Tiene la marca 585, acabo de recibirlo. Espero sea oro real! El tamaño es el correcto. Pedí small. Cuando pase un tiempo prudente vuelvo actualizarlo!

Bought this to replace worn/broken catch on ankle bracelet I bought for my girlfriend that she wore daily for more than two years (amazing it lasted this long since she wore it with everything -- sneakers, etc, etc).It's the exact piece from the same manufacturer who made the ankle bracelet.Perfect!

It was smaller than i thought it would be. I wasn’t familiar with the sizing they listed. Will have to reorder twice that size. I used it on another item.
